The First Berserker: Khazan quests are pretty straightforward, at least most of them, but they feature boss fights that may give you some trouble. One such quest is Charon’s Chain, which consists of three boss fights back to back.

Here’s how to beat Hismar, a really massive boss in The First Berserker: Khazan.
So, you won’t be able to rest between the fights; you will have to defeat them without resting. The first two bosses aren’t that difficult. The real trouble starts when the third boss, Netherworld Aratra, spawns. He is pretty tough, so you will have to save as many heals as possible. Here, we will guide you on how to defeat all three of the bosses easily.
How To Complete Charon’s Chain
Upon going to the quest location from Spectral Portal Vitalon, Capital of the Empire in The Cervice, you won’t have to travel too much or defeat any enemy before starting the boss fight. Just ahead of you will be the Blade Nexus, so activate it and go to the right. The boss arena is just ahead of you.
Before the boss arena on the left, you can destroy a jar to reveal a jarling.
How To Defeat Netherworld Jocko
Netherworld Jocko is going to be the easiest boss of all, but his attacks are pretty slow. So you may get hit by him at the start. You need to avoid that as wasting your heals on this boss won’t be beneficial for you.
Most of the time, he would start the fight by punching from his left hand. He would follow it up with a blow from his right hand and then punch from his left hand again. Perfectly parry the last hit to knock him back a bit.
This will give you an opportunity to attack him, but don’t get greedy, as he will recover quickly. Another time you need to be careful is when he is charging his left hand for an overhand punch. Parry that, but don’t attack him just yet, as he will strike you with a right hook. That has a huge knockback, which can throw you off your rhythm.
After parrying his attacks and attacking him for a bit, you will break his guard, and he will be vulnerable. Now, don’t take the riposte instantly; you can perform around two combos before the riposte vanishes. You can even take it between your combos.
Upon constant attacks, you can stagger Jocko in a different way. He will grab his head and fall down, giving you a huge window to perform combos on him.
After that, he will transition into phase two, but don’t stop attacking; this is a big window to damage him. In this phase, he will also do an unparryable and unblockable attack; you can either dodge it or use your counterattack. Defeat him, and the next boss will spawn.
How To Defeat Netherworld Tigron
This boss will spawn in the exact same location where Jocko was spawned, so stand there and wait for him. As soon as he appears, start attacking him. This is actually a pretty big window to damage him, as he won’t attack you instantly. If you are attacking on his right side, then get ready to dodge or parry as he will perform a side roll. After that, attack him again and parry his next hit. Make sure to perform more parries to break his guard down quickly. If you are aggressive, his guard will break.
Do not take the riposte just yet; perform a combo first. After the riposte, he will transition into phase two, but you don’t have to stop attacking. Be as aggressive as possible. However, keep attentive; he will start this phase with an attack that can’t be parried or blocked. You can either counterattack it or dodge it. He also has a grab; as soon as you see him growling, dodge backward, as his grab is extremely fast. Most of his attacks are pretty simple to parry. He will cause a lot of delays, so do not panic.
You can easily parry his left hand and body slam, but if you are having trouble doing that, it is okay to dodge. Defeat him, and the final boss will spawn shortly.
How To Defeat Netherworld Aratra
Go to the spawn point again and start attacking as soon as the boss is spawned. Aratra is a pretty quick boss, so he will perform a backstep to get out of your combos. After that, he is likely to start the fight with a slam. It will be better if you parry it as this will also damage the boss’s posture.
You must not blindly attack Aratra from the front, as he will trap you in his venomous nest, leaving you vulnerable to his next attack. If you are lucky, you will get free before he performs his next move, but that is really just luck, so make sure not to be aggressive when fighting him from the front.
He is likely to bite you twice after catching you in his venomous nest. So, even if you get hit by the first attack, you can dodge the second one. Again, Aratra is pretty quick on his feet, so don’t just rush in if he takes a backstep.
Wait for him to come towards you. If he takes a big backstep, he will likely perform a slam attack, but if he walks back, he will leap toward you with his claws.
He has one really dangerous attack that you need to be careful of. When at close range, Netherworld Aratra will perform a combo; he will charge the attack first, then use his claws to hit you four times. Then, after a second, he would perform the same combo again. After performing these combos twice, he often follows up with an attack that can’t be parried or blocked.
So, if you are hit by this entire combo, then you don’t have any chance of surviving. You may even die before witnessing the last attack. Dodging this combo is actually more difficult than parrying it, as the attacks are way too fast.
We would recommend parrying the whole combo, as this will damage his posture a lot. However, make sure to dodge the last hit (if he does it). This combo is all about the rhythm; once you get the satisfaction of parrying, it will be a refreshing experience.
He also has a really annoying grab, which is pretty difficult to notice. When he jumps at you with poison coming out of his mouth, dodge to the right or left. His grab inflicts a lot of venom and deals great damage, so make sure to dodge it.
Aratra has a lot of health, so this fight will be long. After taking the first risposte, he will enter phase two. This is when things get really annoying, as he will start randomly teleporting now. After teleporting, he will launch a claw attack. The timing to parry it is very off, so it is better to just dodge it. He also has a new variation of his claw combo now. Aratra will slam you with his left claw and then follow it up with a dual claw slam. He will then perform an unparryable and unblockable attack.
He is likely to perform the old claw combo, but after striking you four times, Aratra will perform a dual claw slam. His slam attack now seems to have an AoE effect, so unless you perfect dodge or parry it, you are in trouble.
Another attack you must be careful of is his new claw combo variation. He will strike you two times, and the second one will be delayed. Then, he will perform a sweep attack with his right claw and strike again. He is likely to follow it up with the dual claw slam. After this attack, Netherworld Aratra’s claws will be stuck in the ground, giving you a massive opportunity to damage him.
Netherworld Aratra also throws venom toward you, so make sure not to step in. If venom is inflicted on you, Khazan will lose his health extremely fast.
The last attack you need to watch out for is the new variation of his slam attack. Aratra will teleport and perform a slam attack; he will do this three times. Keep attacking the boss, and you will eventually defeat him.
