Helldivers 2 Weapon Bug Gives Players Infinite Ammo

Helldivers 2 players have faced some rather interesting issues recently, with the game’s latest update inadvertently giving weapons infinite ammo. This new bug isn’t tied to one weapon in particular but rather all laser weapons, giving players a substantial edge over the enemies in Helldivers 2. This weapon bug follows other glitches, with both the Quasar Cannon and Auto Cannon getting broken in previous updates.

Helldivers 2 is now over a year old, though development has yet to slow down. According to Helldivers 2 content creator Glitch Unlimited, players can currently use an infinite ammo bug in the game. The glitch is quite simple but only affects laser weapons. To get this “infinite ammo,” players simply need to dive onto a planet with a laser weapon and then shoot continuously until it overheats. Once this happens, players need to reload, and right when the ammo icon pops up on the screen, switch to their secondary and then go back to the laser weapon. The end result is a laser weapon that never overheats, making it super overpowered against Helldivers 2‘s array of enemies.

New Unlimited Ammo Bug Discovered in Helldivers 2

This bug works on weapons like the LAS-16 Sickle, LAS-5 Scythe, and LAS-7 Dagger. However, players should note that according to Glitch Unlimited’s research, the bug does not work on weapons like the Laser Cannon or Double-Edged Sickle. This glitch is rather mysterious but is believed to have been introduced as part of the game’s recent 01.002.202 patch, which targeted a different bug affecting Helldivers 2‘s powerful Quasar Cannon.

Weapons are just one part of the puzzle, with Stratagems also being a big piece of the Hellidivers 2 experience. Recent updates have added considerably to Helldivers 2‘s arsenal, though few updates have been as impactful as the game’s Omens of Tyranny content overhaul. Released at the tail end of 2024, Helldivers 2‘s Omens of Tyranny added an entirely new faction to the game, The Illuminate, giving players even more variety when it comes to “spreading liberty” across the galaxy.
