Doomsday Look In An Unconventional Way

Robert Downey Jr. just turned 60 and had a grand celebration for his milestone birthday. However, there are rumors that he may have just leaked his official look in Avengers: Doomsday through his birthday invitation.

Downey Jr. is one of the original Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He portrayed the fan-favorite superhero Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. However, he makes a huge sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame to save the universe, which causes his death. Many were heartbroken by Iron Man’s ending. However, to everyone’s surprise, Marvel announced his official return to the MCU at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con. Downey Jr. returns, not as Iron Man, but as supervillain Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom. They kept his return a secret that even Marvel stars were shocked by the announcement. However, RDJ may not be very good at keeping his official Doctor Doom a secret if rumors are true that his birthday invite says it all.

Nexus Point News shared a snap of Downey Jr.’s birthday invitation on X, formerly Twitter. The invitation is similar to a comic featuring his new MCU role front and center. Doctor Doom is rocking a green costume with a purple cloak. His curly hair is visible because he is not wearing a mask. Beneath him are two other Doctor Doom characters wearing a mask and a magic hat. The outlet noted that Downey Jr. was seen wearing the same hairstyle just two days ago. It has been reported that Avengers: Doomsday is already in production in the United Kingdom. So, the sighting of him rocking the hairstyle could be on the Doomsday set. And if that’s correct, then Doctor Doom’s look in the invitation and RDJ’s sighting with curls a few days ago could mean it is his official look in Doomsday.

Eric Lewis, an American jazz pianist, confirms the Doctor Doom-themed birthday invitation from Downey Jr. The musician shared a photo of the invite he received on Instagram. It bears the same artwork featuring Doctor Doom with curls. It also confirms that Downey Jr. is in the United Kingdom where Doomsday is filming because part of the invite read, “Robert’s Diamond Jubilee,” and the address where the event was set. Downey Jr. celebrated his birthday at Petersham Nurseries Richmond, UK, which is home to restaurants, lifestyle shops, a deli, and a plant nursery.

The snap of Downey Jr. circulating on social media with curls is similar to the Doctor Doom artwork in his birthday invitation. Chances are high that the Academy Award winner leaked his official look in Avengers: Doomsday. Doctor Doom wears his iconic suit — a green cloak with a hood and a metal mask covering his face — most of the time. The mask and cloak cover his entire face, which is filled with scars, including his hair. Doom was doing an experiment when the machine he used exploded, leaving his face disfigured. So, he wears a mask most of the time to conceal his scarred face. However, there were a few times when he appeared in the comics without a mask and cloak, exposing his dark brown wavy to curly hair. Considering this, it’s very likely that Downey Jr. just treated fans with his Doctor Doom official look.

However, the artwork in the invite has noticeable scars because there appears to be a trace of blood on Doctor Doom’s forehead, nose and lips. There is no sign of scars or disfigurement in Downey Jr.’s photo, where he rocks visible curls. This is probably the reason he didn’t mind sharing Doctor Doom’s look in his birthday invitation because it doesn’t give away too much. Fans are now expecting him to rock curls as Doctor Doom. However, Doctor Doom’s disfigured face hasn’t leaked, and that’s something that RDJ will surely guard until the film’s release.
