Summary

  • Ask and you shall receive: Hardcore Mode is coming to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 next week, according to an official Twitter post.
  • The mode will strip away a ton of navigation elements, while also offering players “Negative” perks to equip Henry with.
  • If you’re feeling particularly brave, then there will be an Achievement/Trophy for beating the game on Hardcore with every Negative Perk equipped.

If you thought Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was already a difficult game, then things are about to get a whole lot harder come next week. That’s because, after previously being rumored for an April release, Hardcore Mode has been officially confirmed to launch by the game’s official Twitter account.

To this point, some fans have managed to play the mode early via some nifty tinkering. However, it’ll be available to all relatively soon, and by the looks of it, promises to live up to its name.

Pick Your Poison, Literally

For the uninitiated, Hardcore Mode strips away a lot of the helpful tools that help make the KCD2 experience less punishing. For example, there is no compass and your map position is no longer shown. To get around, you’ll need to talk with people, as well as use the stars in the sky.

That said, things don’t stop being punishing from there, as there’s an entire suite of negative perks that you’ll be able to pick from to help make the experience even more difficult.

The full list is as follows:

  • Numbskull
  • Somnambulant
  • Bad Back
  • Bashful
  • Picky Eater
  • Sweaty
  • Menace
  • Heavy Footed
  • Punchable Face
  • Hangry Henry

Some of these are relatively easy to figure out, like Bad Back impacting the amount you can carry or Heavy Footed ensuring that your shoes wear down faster, and you make more noise. The rest, well, remains to be seen. Oh, and if you’re an Achievement or Trophy Hunter, then know that there will be an additional set of collectibles for beating the game with every negative perk enabled. Poor, poor, Henry.
