YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits later went through the effort of pulling a lot of the showcased footage in order to compare it to the game’s PS4 and PS5 ports. Their 15-minute video comparison suggests that the Switch 2 version of Street Fighter 6 will fall somewhere between its PS4 and PS5 counterparts in terms of graphical fidelity.
The most obvious difference between the Switch 2 and PS5 versions of the game is that the latter has slightly more complex lighting. The PS5 textures are also a bit clearer, but that only becomes obvious when pixel peeping. Overall, Street Fighter 6 seems to be a great showcase for the Switch 2 hardware, which is about as powerful as one can expect from a contemporary handheld console. Capcom previously confirmed that the game runs at a stable 60fps on Nintendo’s next-gen device, which is on par with its other versions. It’s currently unclear whether this promise extends to the World Tour Mode, whose fights were locked to 30fps on the PS4 but ran at 60fps on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Street Fighter 6 Switch 2 Port Will Offer Some New Features
The Switch 2 version of Street Fighter 6 has been confirmed to offer some exclusive new features, including Calorie Contest, a mode pitting two players against each other with the goal of burning as many calories as possible. Another one of the port’s novelties is Gyro Battle, a mode that tasks players with pulling off the game’s many combos using the Switch 2 gyro controls.
Street Fighter 6 is one of 20 Switch 2 launch titles that have already been confirmed by Nintendo. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and Hitman: World of Assassination will also be available on day one, together with Mario Kart World, Deltarune, and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. Ditto for Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut and the Switch 2 Editions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. The Switch successor is slated for release on June 5. Its initial U.S. price was announced to be $449.99, but the tariffs that the government recently imposed on Japanese goods could result in the console being more expensive.
