Things Sarada Can Do That Sasuke Can’t In Boruto

Things Sarada Can Do That Sasuke Can't In Boruto

As Sasuke Uchiha’s daughter in Boruto, it’s natural for people to assume that Sarada Uchiha would become quite the impeccable kunoichi. With Sakura Haruno’s genes running through her veins as well, Sarada isn’t just as skilled as her father but also as hardworking as her mother. This makes her the perfect leader of their generation of Team 7, with Boruto naturally becoming her confidant with his go-getter attitude.

Naruto fans love watching these freinships develop and blossom.

Being a Hokage aspirant, Sarada is the polar opposite of Boruto who wants nothing to do with the position. And Sarada is slowly climbing the ranks, as not only is she proving to be the exceptional kunoichi but she’s also doing feats even Sasuke hasn’t done when they were both the same age.

Sasuke Was A Missing-Nin Around This Time

While shinobi ranks are seldom held with any importance with the relative power scaling of most of Naruto’s main cast, its in-world significance for Kage hopefuls means these aspirants have to dutifully progress through the ranks of Chunin, Jonin, and even Tokubetsu Jonin before reaching power levels close to the position. In this context, Sasuke being designated Sasaukage in the Boruto era may have been more of a formality than something actually fulfilled considering Sasuke’s history.

When he defected to Orochimaru’s side beginning in Part 2, Sasuke hadn’t ever made it past Genin rank. In contrast, Sarada has been promoted Chunin after the exams had been formally recreated after the Momoshiki Arc – making Sarada’s character formally higher of ranking compared to her father’s for a large portion of his youth.

Physical Prowess

Inherited Sakura’s Strength

While it’s no doubt that Sasuke is no slouch when it comes to Taijutsu and Ninjutsu in Part 1 of the OG series, Sarada is not to be underestimated either. Thanks to Sasuke’s early access and training with the Sharingan, he’s able to do surprising techniques such as copying Lee’s moves and even applying them to later fights down the line such as his match with Gaara.

In the case of Sarada, imagine the Uchiha bloodline’s enhanced chakra control with Sakura’s physical prowess. While not as potent as Sakura in terms of raw strength, Sarada was eventually trained in channeling just enough chakra to unleash powerful hits that can crater the ground and even make dents in previously-impervious areas such as Deepa’s carbon defense that techniques like Sage Mode of Mitsuki and Iron Sand of Shinki couldn’t penetrate.

Multiple Nature Transformations

Not Just A Fire Specialist

As members of the Uchiha clan, both Sarada and Sasuke have an affinity to Fire Release – something they’re able to apply to techniques like the Great Fireball and Phoenix Sage Fire. And as users of the Chidori, Sarada and Sasuke also have an affinity for Lightning Release.

Naruto: 8 Best Minor Characters Who Made A Big Impact, Ranked

Though these Naruto characters felt a little unimportant at first, they stepped up to the plate and changed the story out of nowhere.

However, this is where their comparisons end. While Sasuke does attain an affinity for all Nature Transformations upon his acquisition of the Rinnegan, he’s only ever naturally attuned to Fire and Lightning. However, Sarada has extra affinities for Wind Release and Yin Release – transformations that let her use Wind Release: Gale Palm and even healing techniques.

Medical Ninjutsu

Learning How To Heal From The Best

At first glance, it makes sense for Sarada to inherit her mother’s specialization towards Medical Ninjutsu – especially when Sakura is among the few masters of the craft due having trained under none other than the Sannin Tsunade, the world’s greatest Medical Nin.

While Sarada initially struggled with the skill, Sakura’s training allowed her to tap into Medical Nin techniques such as restarting one’s cardiovascular system. Sasuke doesn’t have an aptitude to such techniques, which is very likely connected to Sarada’s connection to Yin Release – something Sasuke doesn’t have.

4

Third Tomoe Activation

A Faster Sharingan Master In Her Youth

Before all the hype surrounding the Mangekyo Sharingan beginning in Naruto Shippuden, Sasuke awakening his Sharingan’s Third Tomoe was a highlight in Part 1 of the OG series – where this activation had given Sasuke unprecedented visual acuity in his fight against Naruto at the Valley of the End, who had begun using his Nine-Tails Chakra. Interestingly enough, it didn’t take this long for Sarada to awaken her own Third Tomoe.

It was during the Chunin Exams in the early parts of the Boruto series that Sarada had activated her Second Tomoe. And it was during the Kara Arc where she had activated the much-awaited Third Tomoe – where she quickly used her newfound visual prowess alongside the Chidori to make quick work of Boro. This makes Sarada an even more advanced learner compared to Sasuke, who in his era is already considered a prodigious shinobi.

3

Chidori Mastery

Learned The Chidori Faster Than Sasuke

While both Sarada and Sasuke learn the Chidori while they are both Genin, it’s the former who had showed a natural aptitude in its usage. Sarada may owe this to the fact that her teacher is none other than her father, whose knowledge of the Sharingan’s inner workings allowed him to help Sarada combine the Sharingan’s visual acuity to help her hone the eagle-eyed focus necessary to control and direct the Chidori to a single target. It’s for this reason that Sarada was able to debut the Chidori in combat against Boro, who she manages to hit with the aid of her Third Tomoe.

Not all Naruto characters get to walk away from a fight with their limbs intact. Here are some examples who lost a body part in one way or another.

Meanwhile, Sasuke’s teacher was the Chidori’s inventor – Kakashi Hatake – whose intention with the technique is to duplicate the Rasengan but with a more lethal lightning typing. Despite Kakashi managing to control it with his own Sharingan, his lack of “natural” aptitude for the Dojutsu due to his non-Uchiha nature meant Sasuke had to learn on his own how to control the technique properly. Compared to Sarada, Sasuke had considerable difficulty controlling the technique around Part 1 – even requiring the aid of the Cursed Mark to use it efficiently in his fight against Naruto at the Valley of the End.

2

Omnipotence Immunity

Saw Through Kawaki’s Illusion

Another trait unique to Sarada and not Sasuke would be the former’s immunity to Omnipotence, something she shares with Sumire Kakei. With this, she can recognize the “true” history of Konoha, where Boruto is the true son of Naruto and not Kawaki.

It’s unknown as to why Sarada is immune to such an ability – especially if it has something to do with her Mangekyo Sharingan. However, this is quite the surprising feat considering even Sasuke himself wasn’t immune to the ability. The only reason he agreed to help Boruto and even become a Missing-nin for a second time was because of Sarada’s awakening of the Mangekyo Sharingan at the idea of Boruto being killed – something that he didn’t take lightly.

1

Advanced Mangekyo Sharingan Opening

For Her Fear Of Losing Boruto

One of the most impressive feats of Sarada throughout Boruto would be the early awakening of her Mangekyo Sharingan – something she accomplished at the fear of Konoha retaliating against Boruto when the his life had interchanged with Kawaki with the effects of Omnipotence.

While the full extent of Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan will likely only be revealed in the coming chapters, the activation itself is a feat on its own. Sasuke only managed to activate his Mangekyo in Part 2 after Itachi Uchiha death, and only through grief – whereas Sarada likely activated hers through love and affection towards Boruto.
