There are many benefits to playing Repo with your friends, including working together to take down monsters and faster times collecting valuables and extracting them. But if you don’t have anyone to play the game with, or just prefer playing games by yourself, you are able to play solo.

8 Scariest Monsters In Repo, Ranked
These monsters don’t get a prize for being the scariest, just your fear.
However, solo Repo is an entirely different beast than multiplayer. If you die, there’s no one to revive you, and you have to gather and carry all the valuables by yourself. Your strategy when playing solo will have to be a little different, so we’ve put together a few solo tips and tricks to help you out.
1
Prioritize Upgrades Before Weapons
After All, You Have Them All To Yourself
One of the nice things about playing Repo solo, is you get all the upgrades to yourself. While grenades, guns, and drones are shiny and exciting, they will only get you so far if your health and stamina still remain at the starting numbers.
We recommend using your earnings from the first two or three levels to stack your upgrades. More health helps you survive monster attacks, more stamina helps you run away further, and more strength can help you lift heavy items and some of the smaller monsters.
2
Some Valuables Can Be Used As Weapons
So Make Sure You Arm The Clown Toy Early
In the absence of actual weapons, there are a few valuables on each map that can be used as weapons against some of the monsters. Some of these items are map-specific, like the large scepter at Swiftbroom Academy or the propane tank at Mcjannek Station.
But there is one item that can spawn on any map that is actually a bomb, and that’s the clown toy. When you touch its nose three times, it explodes, doing damage to any monsters, or semibots, nearby. When you find one, it’s good practice to press the nose two times so it’s primed and ready in case you need to blow something up.
3
It’s Okay To Reload The Level
No One’s Gonna Know
Listen, Repo is ten times scarier when you play by yourself. There are no silly antics of your teammates or the sound of laughter and screaming to buffer the fear. Luckily, the game isn’t saved until a level is finished, and you proceed to the Service Station Shop.

If there’s a particular map you don’t like, or you encounter a monster that you know is going to give you a bad day, it’s possible to reload the level. You can also reload when you’re at the shop if you don’t find something you need. When you reload the save file, it refreshes the items available to purchase.
4
Look Inside A Room Before You Enter
There’s Nothing Worse Than Walking Right Into The Robe Or The Huntsman
A few of the Repo monsters are noisy, but there are just as many that move around silently and can attack you unawares. When playing solo, open doors slowly and look around inside a room before barreling in with your cart full of expensive valuables.
That’s not to say that a Robe or Huntsman won’t sneak up behind you at any given time. But if you open the door and scout out the room first, you’ll have a better chance of finding a way to hide from them and survive.
5
Save Your Sprint For When You Need It
The Items Will Still Be There Whether You Run Or Walk
We get it, walking feels slow. It’s also dark and creepy, and you hear scary sounds and screams coming from who-knows-what. You just want to extract and get out of dodge as soon as you possibly can.
However, sprinting everywhere drains your stamina, which takes a long time to refill. Then, when a monster appears, you don’t have enough stamina to run away. Also, if you go too fast you’re more likely to either run into monsters or miss some loot. It’s best to take your time and save your stamina for when you need it.
It’s The Path Of Least Resistance
This tip will become more useful when you start getting three and four extractions. When you finally clear the last extraction, every monster on the map respawns, and sometimes in multiples. The further away you are from the truck, the more chances you have of not surviving.

As you’re looking for valuables, make note of where all the extraction points are. After you complete the first extraction point, go to the furthest ones next, and save the extraction that’s closest to the truck for last.

Learn Each Monster’s Behavior
Know Thy Enemy
Trudge can do a lot of damage, but he’s very slow and dumb, so if you stay hidden and wait him out, you’ll be fine. The Huntsman may be blind, but has excellent hearing. You can bait him, or just stay crouched and silent until he moves on.
When you understand monster behaviors such as these, you have a much better chance of surviving them. While some situations may be out of your control, like when the Hidden carries you into another monster unwittingly, we recommend learning as much as you can about them. Know when to hide, when to run, and when to fight.

Use Monsters To Kill Other Monsters
The Enemy Of My Enemy Is My…Enemy?
No, you can’t team up with any of the monsters. But you can use a monster’s attack against other monsters, if you time it right. This goes along with the tip above, about knowing each monster’s behavior.
For example, when the spewer is attached to your face, it randomly makes you vomit acid. You can aim it at other monsters to do damage or kill them. Or, if you have enough strength upgrades, you can pick up a Rugrat and throw it at another monster. You can also activate the Apex Predator’s rage attack near other monsters, then hide and let it do your dirty work. There are plenty of possibilities here!
