After an opening day filled with upsets galore, the second day of the PGL Bucharest 2025 Swiss group stage is set to get underway. The wacky nature of the first day’s results mean day two offers up some super interesting matchups – let’s make some predictions for each match. I hope they go a bit better than those from day one!
G2 vs. Rare Atom

As far as the 1:0 bracket goes, G2 no doubt can’t believe their luck to be facing Rare Atom. The Chinese outfit defeated Virtus.pro on the first day of action at PGL Bucharest 2025, but it’s hard to imagine them beating even an inconsistent G2 lineup in the same way. A map win would be a big win for Rare Atom in this one.
Our prediction: G2 2:o Rare Atom
Falcons vs. GamerLegion

It’s looking really bad for Falcons, especially after their disastrous 2:0 loss to Complexity in the PGL Bucharest opener. GamerLegion look to be nothing special with this iteration of the roster, so it’ll be interesting to see if they have enough to make it past even a poor Falcons lineup. My intuition says Falcons have enough quality to avoid the 0:2 bracket, but nothing would surprise me anymore.
Our prediction: Falcons 2:1 GamerLegion
Aurora vs. Legacy

Aurora got off to a winning start at PGL Bucharest 2025 against paiN Gaming, while Legacy surprised Team Liquid. Still, I expect there to be a real gulf in quality with this matchup. On paper, Legacy should have lost on the first day, and unless Aurora face a total collapse, there should only be one winner in this one.
Our prediction: Aurora 2:0 Legacy
Liquid vs. Virtus.pro

Misery loves company in the 0:1 bracket. Liquid vs. Virtus.pro, two of the most inconsistent teams in the scene right now. It’s one of those matches where it’s possible neither team will come out of it looking great, regardless of the result. I’m giving my coin flip to Team Liquid, although I would not be surprised to see either of these teams get the win here.
Our prediction: Liquid 2:1 Virtus.pro
3DMAX vs. Astralis

Astralis didn’t look terrible against FaZe Clan, which is more than we can say about the team’s performances at recent CS2 tournaments. 3DMAX come into the match on the back of a statement win against The MongolZ too, so we could get quite a competitive series here. I think the Danes have what it takes to secure an unlikely place in the 2:0 bracket.
Our prediction: 3DMAX 1:2 Astralis
The MongolZ vs. Apogee

Down in the 0:1 bracket, Apogee might feel a little aggrieved to be facing a team as strong as The MongolZ, given they weren’t expecting to be down there at all. Still, if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best, although I think this enormous test comes far too early for the Polish team. For Apogee, getting an official against a team like The MongolZ probably means a loss, but it can be an extremely useful learning experience.
Our prediction: The MongolZ 2:0 Apogee
FURIA vs. Complexity

2025 hasn’t been kind to either FURIA or Complexity, so it’s somewhat surprising to see them meet in the 1:0 bracket. Still, it’s a great opportunity for both of these teams to gather some momentum as PGL Bucharest 2025 rolls on – could we be set for a fun underdog run? My money’s on FURIA – their experience and the KSCERATO difference should be enough to lock down what could be quite a tight contest.
Our prediction: FURIA 2:1 Complexity
FaZe vs. paiN Gaming

How bad can things really get for this iteration of FaZe? Personally, I don’t think we’ve seen the bottom yet. There’s no doubt that paiN Gaming have a really high ceiling, and if they can show up, they can condemn FaZe to the 0:2 bracket in an event they should be considered among the favorites. Things are really uneven with FaZe right now, and I think that could be a difference-maker coming into this series.
Our prediction: FaZe 1:2 paiN Gaming
