Summary
- Infold introduces Epiphany Crystals for its gacha system, sparking player dissatisfaction.
- Past issues with Limited-Time Revelation Crystals & overpriced items led to backlash.
- Infold responds by offering free outfits & preparing housing & dye features in Version 1.5.
Infinity Nikki is introducing a new type of currency for its gacha system called Epiphany Crystals, but many players haven’t been thrilled since the announcement. While Infinity Nikki has diligently established a reputation for being generous to its fans, a few mishaps have kept the community on high alert since launch. The two most notable controversies revolved around Limited-Time Revelation Crystals and the Moonlight Oath outfit. Whereas the former was deemed a predatory practice, the latter was seen as overpriced.
In the wake of player feedback, Infold moved away from both time-sensitive currency and expensive cosmetics, as Version 1.2 introduced the Heartfelt Gifts program – nine free outfits given to the community throughout three Infinity Nikki updates. For the most part, the community was content with how the gacha system worked in the game, as the developers worked tirelessly to prepare the housing and dye features for launch in Version 1.5.

Infinity Nikki Might Have an Unfair Gacha System
Infinity Nikki may be loading the dice against certain outfit pieces, as the game’s client calculates its gacha odds differently than described.
However, recent datamining revealed that Infold was toying with a new currency called Epiphany Crystals, which will be used for pulling on the 4-Star outfits in Infinity Nikki. It was officially announced on April 6, 2025, and the player response has been anything but stellar, as seen by sukiidakara’s thread on the Infinity Nikki subreddit.
Infinity Nikki Introduces a New Gacha Currency
The main argument against Epiphany Crystals revolves around the fact that their inclusion further complicates an already elaborate system of currencies. Players need to gather Diamonds in Infinity Nikki, which can be purchased for real money or obtained by completing content. Diamonds can then be converted into Revelation Crystals and Resonance Crystals. The former is used for limited banners, while the latter is used for permanent banners.
By adding Epiphany Crystals, it opens the possibility for Infold to get fans into a habit of pulling for both types of limited banners in Infinity Nikki. An important thing to note is that players will still be able to use their Revelation Crystals to pull on the 4-Star outfits, but they won’t be able to use Epiphany Crystals for the 5-Star ones. As such, Epiphany Crystals have less value than Revelation Crystals, and some Infinity Nikki players are hoping that Infold will price them accordingly. Epiphany Crystals are expected to make their debut in the second half of Version 1.4, as they were announced with a showcase of the upcoming Pastoral Dance and Enchanted Writing outfits. While it remains to be seen how the developers will approach Epiphany Crystals going forward, Infinity Nikki has proven that it’s open to player feedback.
