Helldivers 2 players have recently received a lot of fun and powerful equipment, thanks to the release of the Borderline Justice Warbond. Whether players are dealing with Automatons, Terminids, or the Illuminates, this new equipment provides an edge that allows for better handling of these enemy factions. This is especially true when it comes to one particular stratagem that is included in the Warbond, and players have noticed how effective it is, or can be, against the game’s bug-like enemies.
Like every Warbond in Helldivers 2, Borderline Justice offers a variety of equipment that can be helpful in many scenarios. One piece of equipment in particular has caught the eye of players, due to how it allows them to deal with the Terminids more efficiently, and it is the Hover Pack. While using the Hover Pack to stay in the air for a limited time can be a big boon when fighting any faction, its utility against the bug-like creatures makes it almost a necessity in those missions. Players may decide to always include the stratagem in their loadouts when visiting Terminid-infested planets, and given how useful the Hover Pack has proven to be against those enemies, that shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Given the success of Helldivers 2’s Borderline Justice Warbond, Arrowhead Game Studios may want to look into going beyond the Wild West theme.
Why Helldivers 2’s Hover Pack Is Particularly Useful in Missions Involving Terminids
The Hover Pack can be seen as one of the best unlockables in the Borderline Justice Warbond, simply because of how much of an impact it has when used against the Terminids. As to what makes it so effective against the bug-like enemies, there are a few factors:
- The aerial mobility provided by the Hover Pack can help ensure players aren’t surrounded by overwhelming numbers, something for which the Terminids are known.
- The Terminids mostly rely on getting up close and personal to kill players, making the Hover Pack’s ability especially useful in just about every dire situation that involves them.
- Since most of the Terminids can only attack targets on the ground, the Hover Pack can also be used offensively, providing players with an opportunity to take out threats from a safe position.
While the Hover Pack can be extremely useful when facing the game’s bug-like enemies, using it does not guarantee certain victory. Players still need to be skilled at using its ability to grant temporary aerial maneuverability, making it a balanced tool that’s not game-breaking but also cannot be ignored.
How the Hover Pack Allows Another Tool To Shine in Terminid-Related Missions
Again, unlike the Illuminate and the Automatons, the vast majority of Teminid spawns are on the ground and rely on melee combat to kill players. This means that tools such as the MD-6 Anti-Personnel Minefield
, the MD-14 Incendiary Mines
, and the MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines are well suited for dealing with bugs, but the devastation that those tools can inflict upon allies prevented them from seeing widespread use. However, with the Hover Pack, players can simply fly over the explosions produced by those stratagems, allowing them to enjoy the benefits of mines with little to no consequences. The two types of equipment clearly have great synergy, further strengthening the case for bringing Hover Packs to Terminid-related missions and giving mines the spotlight they deserve.
The latest premium Warbond in Helldivers 2 has certainly left a mark on the game, and it can be argued that the Hover Pack that came with it is why. Aside from being terrific for planets involving the Terminids, it shows the potential of equipment that provides more mobility options, as they can make the game more entertaining and enjoyable. Hopefully, Arrowhead Game Studios will add more of this type of stratagem in the future, as there are opportunities that could be explored by adding more things similar to the Hover Pack.
