It seems as though Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2 will be launching with a notable drawback.
In yet another impressive example of this trend, YouTuber Lerfing built the Elden Ring map in Minecraft. His recreation encompasses the entirety of The Lands Between’s surface areas from the vanilla game, ranging from Limgrave and Liurnia of the Lakes to Caelid, Altus Plateau, and Mountaintops of the Giants. Leyndell and Haligtree are also part of the package, although the creator notes that they are still a work in progress.
Lerfing’s Elden Ring Minecraft Map Took 2,000 Hours to Create
While some sections of the world are still in the process of being populated, even this current version of the map required monumental effort to create, with Lerfing estimating that the project has so far taken some 2,000 hours. Besides the Land of Shadow from Elden Ring‘s critically acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Lerfing’s map also appears to be missing some underground locations, such as Siofra River and Lake of Rot. However, the YouTuber isn’t done refining his creation and has already pledged to share another video update as soon as some significant progress is made.
Lerfing’s Elden Ring Minecraft Map Is Available for Download, but With a Catch
In the meantime, the latest version of Lerfing’s map recently made its way to the front page of the r/EldenRing subreddit, amassing over 22,000 upvotes and prompting hundreds of fans to praise the content creator’s dedication and design chops. The YouTuber even shared his map for others to use, albeit with a catch in that the download is only available to his Patreon subscribers.
It’s unclear whether Lerfing always intended to recreate the entirety of the Elden Ring map in Minecraft, although that seems to be where his project is headed at the moment. Since the game’s release, the YouTuber has recreated plenty of individual Elden Ring locations in Minecraft, then gradually worked on conjoining them. FromSoftware fans eager to see more of The Lands Between lore will soon be able to do so in Elden Ring: Nightreign, a co-op roguelike title that’s scheduled for release on May 30. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is also on its way to the Switch 2 in the second half of 2025.
