Verdansk has officially made its highly anticipated return with the launch of Warzone Season 3, bringing back the classic battleground that first captured players’ hearts during Warzone’s original debut—this time with some fresh upgrades. Players can jump into Verdansk for classic 150-player Battle Royale action, reviving the golden days of the popular free-to-play title.
Alongside Verdansk’s return, players can also get their hands on iconic weapons like the Kilo 141 Assault Rifle and the CR-56 AMAX. However, one weapon that’s been in Warzone since the Modern Warfare 2 integration has made a comeback, at least temporarily, bringing the Akimbo Snakeshot meta back from the dead. Here’s the best Akimbo Snakeshot build in Call of Duty: Warzone.
The .500 Snakeshot Ammunition for the Basilisk has been temporarily disabled while an issue with the attachment is being investigated. While the attachment is expected to return at a later date, players should expect a nerf to it in an upcoming update. For more information, check out Call of Duty’s official post on the matter here.

Best Akimbo Snakeshot Build in Call of Duty: Warzone
Back during the Modern Warfare 2019 era of Call of Duty: Warzone, the Akimbo .357 with Snakeshot rounds absolutely reigned supreme, shredding opponents at close to mid-range. Now, with Verdansk making its return in Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3, that iconic meta has been revived once again, allowing players to run around with dual-wield Pistols just like they could during Verdansk’s original debut back in 2020.
For players wanting to relive the glory days of the Snakeshot meta, equipping the Basilisk—a Modern Warfare 2 Pistol still available in Warzone—is the way to go. The two must-have attachments are the Akimbo Rear Grip and the .500 Snakeshot ammunition, but we’ve also added a few extra attachments to make the build even stronger.
This setup focuses on extending the Basilisk’s effective range, boosting hipfire accuracy, and increasing the weapon’s fire rate. While players will have visible hipfire lasers and a slight reduction to sprint-to-fire speed, this build is still more than capable of deleting Operators in just a few quick shots. However, with how powerful this formidable weapon is, a nerf could be on the horizon. Here’s the recommended build players should be using for the Basilisk inside Warzone:
- 10.5″ FTAC Arrow (Barrel)
- Akimbo Basilisk (Rear Grip)
- Basilisk Grip Laser (Laser)
- .500 Snakeshot (Ammunition)
- Bryson HTA (Trigger Action)
