Keeping food and herbs from spoiling in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is no easy feat. Thankfully, the drying rack is a new workstation where players can dry food and herbs, preserving their condition for far longer than their fresher counterparts. Finding these drying racks, however, isn’t always simple.

Drying racks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are typically in buildings, but unless players are investigating every shack and worn-down building, they’ve likely walked right past a drying rack and not even realized it. Players could be wasting food and herbs needlessly by not using drying racks, although, admittedly, having certain skill perks can make dried food and herbs even more effective.

Since so many drying racks are scattered about Trosky and Kuttenberg, it can be hard to know if players are near one. Let’s break it down region by region.

Drying Racks in Trosky

There are four main cities in Trosky, and each one has drying racks. Players can also find drying racks scattered about the countryside, but this guide will focus on the major cities and towns.

• Semine: 4 Drying Racks

Drying Racks in Troskowitz

There are five drying racks in Troskowitz, scattered about the town.

The first drying rack is in the yard of the local alchemist. Check out the small shack next to the herb garden. The drying rack is right next to the alchemist’s lab.

The second may be more challenging for some players to get to, as it sits in the back of the trader’s shop. Walk through an opening in the northern side of the building. Take a right when Henry enters the square and into an open part of the barn. Tucked away on the side is the drying rack. There’s a dog here, too, so if Henry doesn’t have an excellent reputation in the town or with the trader, it might cause trouble.

Finding the third drying rack is easy. Head to the tavern and enter the dining area. On the right side, players should see a white building attached to a barn, with the street behind Henry. Inside the white building is the drying rack.

The fourth drying rack in Troskowitz is in a private building. Players will receive the blue trespassing icon when they enter. If the player wishes to dry their herbs and food here, they’ll want to sneak in.

Players will have to access another private building for the final drying rack. The good news is that there’s a ladder on the right side of the house that leads up to the hay loft. Enter the house through there and climb down inside the house proper. Looking at the front door, the drying rack will be in a room on the left.

Drying Racks in Zhelejov

The small town of Zhelejov may seem like it doesn’t have much to offer, but that’s far from the truth. Players can find a barber in Zhelejov as well as drying racks.

For the first drying rack in Zhelejov, walk to the square on the western side of the small town. The drying rack is in an open building to the north, against the left wall.

The second drying rack in Zhelejov is locked behind a residence not far from the first drying rack. Head east from the first drying rack to find it. The door is typically locked, with a Very Easy lockpick difficulty.

The final drying rack in Zhelejov is in another inaccessible area. Head to the eastern part of the town to a small square of houses and barns. The drying rack is in the house closest to the road, but there are a lot of people in the area watching the door. Enter the house and look to the left to find the drying rack beside the door.

Drying Racks in Tachov

Because of its size, players can easily miss out on special locations or details in Tachov. For example, the town only has two drying racks, and it’s not uncommon for players to walk right past one without knowing it.

The first drying rack in Tachov isn’t the easiest one to access. Players can find it behind a locked door with a lockpick difficulty of Very Easy. The owner of the house also has keys that the player can steal to open the door. Inside, the drying rack is on the left beside the door.

The second drying rack location in Tachov is better: just head inside the tavern. Take the back door on the left, and the drying rack is against the right wall beside the door. As long as the tavern isn’t closed, players shouldn’t have any problems using this drying rack.

Drying Racks in Semine

There are a number of great locations in Semine, like the horse trader and a combat arena. It also has four drying racks.

The easiest drying rack is on the far western side of the town. Head into a small yard that sits to the left of a white house. The drying rack sits inside a shed on the left-hand side.

A trickier drying rack sits a few houses down from the first. Head east along the road until you get to a yard with a vegetable stall. The drying rack is in the house, but the people guarding it don’t want players to go inside. After entering the house, head to the room at the far back on the left. The drying rack is inside the room.

Next door to the east of the second drying rack is the third in Semine. This is another private residence, so players can get in trouble if they’re seen entering. The good news is that the drying rack isn’t far into the house. Enter through the door, and the drying rack is opposite them, on the other side of the room.

The final drying rack in Semine is in another private residence. This one is even riskier to get into since it sits inside an enclosed barracks. If players get inside without raising suspicion, they’ll find the drying rack opposite them on the right at the back of the room.

Drying Racks in Kuttenberg

Kuttenberg is even larger than Trosky, and it has many more towns and drying racks to find. Before players can get to Kuttenberg in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, they need to put some work into the main story. Once players arrive, they’ll find no shortage of places to dry their herbs and food.

Drying Racks in Maleshov

Most of Maleshov’s drying racks are in residences, which can make accessing them hard. One of the drying racks is in the middle of town in a shed, which players can access freely. This is the best drying rack to avoid trouble.

Drying Racks in Wysoka

While most drying racks in Wysoka are in homes, and thus tough to access, a drying rack to the far north of Wysoka is easier to access. It’s off the main road, so there are fewer eyes on Henry when he interacts with the drying rack.

Drying Racks in Suchdol

There are two drying racks in Suchhol that players can access easily. Since this is the starting area for the Kuttenberg side of the story, having a nearby drying rack can help ensure Henry is ready to start off strong. Both drying tanks are on the northern side of the town. The northernmost location has the drying rack in a barn, which players can access, but keep an eye out for anyone who doesn’t want Henry in the barn. The easiest drying rack is located in the northwest of town, in a small shed far from the road and prying eyes.

Drying Racks in Miskowitz

Miskowitz is a great location in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 for drying herbs. Although the town has three drying racks, two are pretty easy to access. The drying rack on the western side of town is the easiest, since it’s in a shed far away from the main road and houses. The second-easiest is the drying rack to the south, which is in a small building. Keep an eye out for the homeowners in this location, however, as they won’t like Henry poking around the place.

Drying Racks in Pischitoky

The drying racks in Pischitoky aren’t the easiest since most of them are in houses. Henry will have to either break in to use them or wait for the villagers to leave the area. If players have Mutt, then they can use him to distract people away from the area with the Houndmaster skill. The best drying rack here is the southernmost rack.

Drying Racks in Grund

Players won’t find any drying racks that are easily accessible in Grund. The drying racks are either in houses or within easy sight of the villagers. Desperate players may have some problems with the southern drying rack since it’s a bit more separated, but if players want to avoid committing a crime, they might want to try the drying racks elsewhere.

Drying Racks in Horsechan

The small town of Horsechan has just one drying rack. Since players will have to take a risk to access it with villagers around, it might be best to move on to a safer drying rack.

Drying Racks in Bohunowitz

There are two drying racks in Bohunowitz, but players will want to be careful. This town is close to Sigismund’s camp and the Spoils of War quest, so players may encounter more enemies or aggressive villagers in this area. The drying racks are also harder to access in this town since they’re inside people’s homes.

Drying Racks in Raborsch

Raborsch has two drying racks in town, which are hard to access since they’re inside people’s homes. The best option is the house on the eastern side of town since it’s not as easily seen from the street.

How To Use Drying Racks in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Drying racks help prevent food and herbs from spoiling quickly. This can prevent Henry from eating spoiled food and suffering poisoning, as well as give players the chance to sell food for some extra Groschen. Even if Henry has all the food he could eat, players can still benefit by selling all their dried food and herbs at great prices.

Henry needs either food or herbs in his inventory to use a drying rack. Interact with the drying rack and choose the herbs or food items to dry. Confirm your choices, and then the food or herbs will convert into dried versions of themselves.

The main benefit of drying food and herbs is that they remain at 100% condition a lot longer. Dried food can even provide more nourishment. Players can still use dried herbs to make high-quality potions, but should add at least one fresh herb to achieve high-quality status. Certain perks, like The Secret of Equilibrium I and II, allow players to use all dried herbs in alchemy and still make high-quality potions.

Finally, consider unlocking the Master Cook perk, which allows them to restore certain ingredients and food to 100% condition after processing them with the drying rack. Since food can last a lot longer after drying, this is a great way to ensure Henry never goes hungry.
