Rarest Skins You Can't Get Anymore

Marvel Rivals continues to thrill players with its exciting roster of characters in a 6v6 setting across a multitude of maps and their objectives, but it also continues to impress thanks to its range of cosmetics and costumes that these iconic heroes and villains can wear. While there are some amazing costumes in Marvel Rivals, there are also some immensely rare ones that some players don’t have, and even fewer have ever seen.

Scarlet Witch – White Witch

A Closed Alpha Exclusive

  • How to Get: Exclusive to Closed Alpha players
  • First Appearance: X-Men: The Trials of Magneto (2021) #4

When Marvel Rivals was first announced, some mistook it for a mere Overwatch 2 clone, and how mistaken they were. Marvel Rivals confidently released a sign-up for a Closed Alpha testing, and those lucky enough to get in were able to play as a small roster of characters back in May of 2024, but only for PC players.

Considering the small selection of Closed Alpha players, not many got to experience Marvel Rivals, especially with the player base being exclusive to PC. This means that only a select few were able to get their hands on the White Witch outfit for Scarlet Witch, showcasing a snowy white and crimson red aesthetic for the witch.

Iron Man – Armor Model 42

A Suit of Armor Unlocked with a Code

  • How to Get: Enter the promo code: nwarh4k3xqy
  • First Appearance: Iron Man (2012) #1

The Armor Model 42 costume for Iron Man wasn’t always rare, and in fact, it was one of the easiest free skins that players could get. All they needed to do was enter a promo code into the store to receive this skin for free, but for some players, they might have never known this until it was already too late.

While this promo code was active from December 6, 2024, it has since expired as of March 5, 2025, meaning those who play Iron Man and enjoy the sleek design of this black and gold suit are out of luck, and will have to choose from his other costumes instead.

Magneto – Will of Galacta

Represent Galacta’s Colors with this Mighty Mutant

  • How to Get: Twitch Drop for Amazon Prime account owners for Season 0
  • Featured in: Marvel Rivals Season 0

Magneto also has a few skins, and while this aged Mutant might be graying in a few areas, he can certainly stay fashionable with these bright colors attributed to the Will of Galacta skin. However, this isn’t something players can do anymore, as this was reserved for Season 0 of Marvel Rivals, the origin point for many who started playing the game when it released in December of 2024.

Those without Twitch Prime were unable to grab the Twitch Drop that released this free skin, providing Magneto with a snazzy new outfit that would adorn him with purples, indigos, and turquois colors to make him stand out.

Thor – Reborn from Ragnarok

A Younger Thor Debuts in Midnight Features

  • How to Get: Midnight Features Event
  • Featured in: Thor (2007) #1

Thor’s appearance in Marvel Rivals shows a multiverse variant, one who has been aged through battle and time. Thor’s graying hair and luscious hair show how long he has been the God of Thunder, but for those who prefer a more classic look, they could have earned themselves a free skin with the Reborn from Ragnarok outfit, providing a youthful appearance to this Avenger.

Thor’s Reborn from Ragnarok skin was his first youthful and clean-shaven outfit from the comics where he was just the God of Thunder and nothing else, but it was also a skin that could only be earned by completing all challenges in the Midnight Features Event back in January of 2025, an event that some might have missed, and others would have found the objectives too hard to complete.

4

Black Widow – Mrs. Barnes

A Widow of the Wild West

  • How to Get: Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure Event from Season 1
  • Featured in: 1872 (2015) #2

Black Widow might not be everyone’s favorite Duelist in Marvel Rivals, but it’s hard not to want to main her with the Mrs. Barnes skin, which provides this lethal assassin with the outfit of an outlaw. Mrs. Barnes’ cowgirl outfit embodies the Wild West with her wide-brimmed black hat and elk fur jacket, and spats, but many players may have missed this skin.

Since its exclusive release in early March of 2025, players had to complete objectives in Marvel Rivals to spin a dice on Galacta’s Cosmetic Adventure board to try and get the skin. However, most players might have missed this Event board due to the fact that there were two events at once, and it wasn’t very clear in-game that this was even a thing.

3

Spider-Man – Scarlet Spider

Turn Peter Parker into Kaine Parker for PlayStation Users

  • How to Get: Exclusive to PlayStation players
  • Featured in: Scarlet Spider (2011) #1

For those who play on Xbox or PC, they will be unable to grab the Scarlet Spider skin. Since Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man, it’s not surprising that they’d want to keep their golden boy on their own consoles, which is why despite the fact that all consoles can play as Spider-Man, only those on PlayStation will have access to the Scarlet Spider outfit.

It’s a nice reward for the exclusive members on PlayStation, as the Scarlet Spider has a sleek red and black design that showcases a difference between Peter and Kaine with the harsher and more gritty colors representing a darker hero who isn’t much for quips.

2

Star-Lord – Lion’s Mane

Give Star-Lord Some Dreamy Locks with a Spring Event

  • How to Get: The Fortune & Colors Event in Season 1
  • Featured in: Marvel Rivals Season 1

The Spring Festival would celebrate the Chinese New Year in Marvel Rivals, where Star-Lord was one of three characters to receive a skin. This outfit is more noticeable than the others, leaving behind Iron Fist and Black Widow specifically because Star-Lord gets a rocking mane of hair and a cool lion mask that sees him glow upon the land.

While it’s not as poppy as his other more comic-accurate outfits, it’s still a pretty cool cosmetic set that players can no longer obtain, as the event was rather short lived at the end of January and the start of February of 2025, meaning that players will have to wait for the next annual event or hopefully a store unlock.

Venom – Cyan Clash

A Marvel vs. Capcom-Inspired Look for Closed Beta Players

  • How to Get: Exclusive to Closed Beta players
  • Featured in: Marvel vs. Capcom 2

After the Closed Alpha provided players with the White Witch cosmetic for Scarlet Witch, players who were also lucky enough to get access to the Closed Beta would be granted the Cyan Clash skin for Venom, which provides this slimy Symbiote with a beautiful, striking cyan color instead of his regular black or navy blue.

The Closed Beta for Marvel Rivals occurred across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC from July 23 to August 5, and while more people were able to get into this one than the Closed Alpha, the Cyan Clash Venom skin is still an often rare rarity, despite its popularity.
