Summary
- The release of the Deadpool Secret Lair has enabled a new strategy in Magic: The Gathering.
- The strategy involves using a card from the Doctor Who MTG crossover too.
- Because of this, the Doctor Who card has seen a huge increase in price on the resellers market.
Magic: The Gathering recently shadowdropped its latest Marvel Secret Lair crossover, with a full Deadpool set announced for April Fool’s Day. However, it wasn’t a joke, and the cards are very much real – and they’re already impacting the resellers market.
As noted by our TCG Lead Joe Parlock, the average selling price for a card in the Doctor Who Universes Beyond set – The Master, Multiplied – has increased by almost 1,500 percent. This is because of a strategy that can be utilised if you have that and a new Deadpool card, prompting MTG players to seek the card out.

Magic: The Gathering’s Spongebob Meme Cards Are Harmless Fun
The trading card game is once again leaning into crossovers, and Spongebob is already a winner.
The strategy involves having access to three cards: The Master, Multiplied; Blade of Selves; and Deadpool, Trading Card. Basically, Blade of Selves gives the myriad ability, letting you make copies of another card. Deadpool, Trading Card can be used to swap text boxes, then The Master, Multiplied stops the legends rule from applying, meaning the cards don’t go in the graveyard. As Joe explained for us, this means you can steal your opponent’s creatures every single turn.
The Master, Multiplied Sees Huge Price Increase In MTG Resellers Market
As you can see on TCG Player, The Master, Multiplied is being sold for an average price of $23.69 in near-mint condition. Compare this to the previous lower average of $1.50, and that makes for a price leap of 1,479 percent. It’s clear then that many MTG players are looking to make the most of this strategy involving the new Deadpool card, which means resellers can make far more for The Master’s card than ever before.
Right now, there are listings for $29.99 on the site, so it doesn’t seem that the average res price is going down anytime soon.
