When a new weapon releases in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 or Call of Duty: Warzone, leveling it up fast is key to unlocking its attachments, making it the best version of itself. Thankfully, there are some accessible ways to level up weapons quickly and easily, whether you’ve purchased a game or are entirely free to play.

We will go over all the best ways to level a weapon in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone. All of them are relatively casual-friendly and won’t take much time or effort to do well.
How To Level Up Weapons Fast In Warzone
If you only engage with Call of Duty as a free-to-play player, Warzone is your one place to level up three years of weapons across Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare 2, and Modern Warfare 3. It’s a lot to get through.
Of the multiple available modes in Warzone battle royale, Plunder is the best for leveling weapons fast by far. There are a few simple reasons why:
- Like all Warzone modes, XP is shared across your squad. However, with the higher focus on looting and completing objectives in Plunder, you’re likely to earn more XP as your teammates navigate the map. The lower player count also helps keep engagements to a minimum, so you have more containers to open and can more easily and quickly complete contracts.
- You keep your Loadout after each death, so you don’t need to buy a new one or salvage a lesser kit from the ground.
- There’s no Gulag in Plunder, just a short respawn timer, letting you get back in action quicker, meaning more chances to earn XP.
As for how to earn weapon XP quickly in Plunder, there are several good ways:
- Drop onto the outskirts of the map, but still within an area relatively crowded with buildings. Loot every container you find.
- Take Supply Contracts over PvP-focused ones for the first few minutes. Doing so cuts down on your potential time at the respawn screen, letting you loot and collect XP more efficiently.
- Deposit cash after collecting between 60,000-100,00 dollars. That way, you’ll avoid being a target on the map for too long and still always have enough to purchase things from the Buy Stations.
If you want PvP, do the opposite of those suggestions, but know it’s not the most effective way to quickly get tons of weapon XP.
In our experience, even on a relatively unskilled or passive squad, our weapons leveled up once every three to five minutes. That timeframe shrank when we made it onto teams that looted well and were good at taking out enemies as they found them.
Lastly, because it’s a more PvE-friendly mode, Plunder is a more casual experience. You can put on some music or hold a conversation while passively leveling your weapons.

How To Level Up Your Weapons Fast In Multiplayer
If you own Black Ops 6 and enjoy the multiplayer, the best way to level your weapons is to play the Strike maps in the Face Off mode. You can easily select Face Off Moshpit in the playlist filter, ensuring you’re always on the game’s smallest, most chaotic maps.
Of the Strike maps, Stakeout quickly became the go-to for weapon leveling shortly after the launch of Black Ops 6 and now boasts its own dedicated 24/7 playlist.
If you have any Double Weapon XP tokens, using them while playing Strike Maps 6v6 is ideal. Double XP weekends are also a suitable method.
As for the best way to level weapons on Stakeout or in Face Off, the answer is simple: get a lot of kills, especially headshots. How you do so is up to you. Stakeout has a few power positions, like the kitchen hallway sight line, that you can hold down.
You can also run from one side of the map to the other, taking out as many enemies as possible before you’re invariably overwhelmed. Repeat the process as many times as possible over the course of the match.
The strategy is roughly the same on all the other Strike maps. Either hold down a position or run from spawn to spawn. Continue the process until you’ve leveled your weapons as much as you want.
How To Level Up Your Weapons Fast In Zombies
Leveling weapons in Zombies can be even more chill than in Plunder, especially if you know the best kiting spots on a given map.
The strategy is simple, and only has a few steps:
- Reach round eight or nine, load up on all the Perk-a-Colas you can, then head to the kiting areas.
- Kite the zombies around until they form a horde.
- Using your chosen weapon, get as many Critical Zombie Kills as you can before reloading.
- Reposition so you don’t get caught from behind, make another horde, and repeat the process.
We recommend stopping the slaughter (of zombies) when only one or two remain. That way, you can purchase any remaining perks, complete Easter Egg or Wonder Weapon crafting steps, and collect or craft any additional resources you need.
By the time you reach round 30 or so, the zombies are likely to be plentiful enough that you can easily get two or three weapon levels per round.
However, past round 40, unless you have easy access to Wonder Weapons, the zombies will have enough health that killing them with the weapon you want to level might take too much time. There’s no shame in ending the match and starting fresh.
