Where To Get The Datlow Hall Conservatory Key In Atomfall

Where To Get The Datlow Hall Conservatory Key In Atomfall

There are various landmarks to discover in Atomfall, and the Datlow Hall Estate is perhaps one of the grandest locations you can stumble across. Some locations are also home to strange and quirky characters, like Prudence Rook, who is more concerned about the state of her garden than the surrounding apocalypse. It’s also clear that Datlow Hall hides some secrets when she cryptically warns you not to go into the Conservatory and is overly protective of the Datlow Hall Conservatory Key, which she only entrusts to her helper, Jenks.

Atomfall: Where To Find Druid Castle Key

The Druid Castle Key in Atomfall is conveniently located near the hidden Keyhole that requires it, but you’ll have to be careful of wandering Druids.

Naturally, you’ll probably wonder how to get into the Conservatory, which is barred from within and locked up tight. To get inside, you’ll need to track down the Datlow Hall Conservatory Key location, which can take you far across Casterfell Woods. However, there is also a way to get the Conservatory Key from Prudence much faster and without tracking down Jenks if you choose the right dialogue options. Either way, it shouldn’t take long to get the Datlow Hall Conservatory Key in Atomfall by following a few straightforward steps, leading you to some valuable rewards.

How to Get the Conservatory Key in Atomfall (Datlow Hall)

Conservatory Key Location

To get started, you’ll need to find the location of Dalton Hall at points 26.2E, 85.4N on the map in Casterfell Woods, which takes you to the Dalton Hall Grounds landmark. To enter Dalton Hall, you’ll need to travel through the gardens through the hedge archway on the left and through the side door, as pictured above. However, the grounds are littered with tripwire booby traps, so watch your step.

Although you can disarm traps in Atomfall using the Disarm Traps Skill, you can also safely jump over or walk around them, such as through the flower borders surrounding the back entrance to the Conservatory.

How to Get the Conservatory Key From Prudence Without Finding Jenks (Best Dialogue Options)

Once inside Dalton Hall, head to the dining room with the big fireplace to speak with Prudence Rook, who says you are free to explore anywhere around the Hall and gardens except the Conservatory. After asking her why you can’t go inside the conservatory via the ‘Prying’ dialogue choice, you can choose the following dialogue options to get the Conservatory Key from Prudence straight away without having to search for Jenks, as outlined below and pictured above:

  • Appeasing – You can trust me. I can help you tidy the place up, if you give me the key.
  • Impatient – The guests are already here! We must prepare the conservatory!

However, if you try to lie to Prudence by pretending to be Jenks or choose the ‘Helpful’ dialogue option, you’ll still have to go and find Jenks northwest of Casterfell Woods at the Dam and report back to get the Conservatory Key. It’s also best not to threaten her, as she’ll ask you to leave if you try this tactic.

If you need to track down Jenks first, choose the ‘Honest’ dialogue option when you speak to Prudence again afterward to get her to give you the Conservatory Key, thinking of you as the new Jenks, as pictured above.

While you could technically kill Prudence Rook to get the Conservatory Key in Atomfall, it’s a choice you might want to consider carefully, as killing NPCs in Atomfall can have consequences. It also doesn’t typically take a long time to find Jenks to get her to give up the key willingly, so it’s probably worth the extra step if you don’t mind taking the relatively short trip to Casterfell Dam.

How to Find and Open the Dalton Hall Conservatory in Atomfall

After obtaining the Dalton Hall Conservatory Key from Prudence, you can now open the Conservatory to grab some rewards and find out what skeletons the Estate has lurking in the closet – literally. However, the back door entrance to the Conservatory is barred from the other side, so you’ll need to enter by unlocking the door right of the wrecked car, which you can find by heading right of the Estate’s main entrance. There’s also a fire booby trap nearby, so be careful when approaching the entrance to the Conservatory. You can find the Conservatory location and use the Conservatory Key to open it, as shown pictured above and in the video below:

As shown in the video and below, there are several goodies you can find among the skeletal remains and the ”I hear the Voice” note from Charity Rook, Prudence’s sister, the Stealth Manual containing the Quiet Takedown, Quiet Movement, and Surprise Attack skills, plus the following collectibles:

  • Pistol Ammo
  • A rusty M. 1911 pistol
  • A Molotov Cocktail
  • A Glass Tumbler
  • A Bandage
  • Glass and Iodine in the Backpack

After you’ve opened and looted the Conservatory and unbar the Conservatory back door, you can speak with Prudence again about the note you found from Charity to get more dialogue options. However, even if you tell her, she still doesn’t necessarily realize what’s happened and talks about tending the flowers instead. Although it doesn’t seem you can talk to her again, you can follow her to see where she goes after she exits Dalton Hall.

Before leaving, there are also various collectibles inside Dalton Hall and around the gardens, so it’s worth looking around to see what you can find, including plenty of Herbs, Glass Bottles, Scrap, and more. There are also several bodies to loot around the gardens, but watch out for patrolling outlaws nearby who may come to investigate if you set off some traps around the Estate.
