Liandrin’s Past Unveiled and the Race for Power in Tachinco
In The Wheel of Time Season 3, Episode 6, viewers are taken back in time to see Liandrin locked in a small, dark cell. She holds a crying baby in her arms, trying to calm him down by whispering that “he” does not like crying while glancing nervously at the door. The baby quiets down just as two men enter the cell, demanding that she hand the child over. Liandrin refuses, and when one of them tries to attack her, she uses her powers to kill them both. She escapes the cell and rushes into the city, desperately asking for help, but no one listens. Exhausted, she sits beneath a statue. Moments later, a man’s voice calls out to her—it is Ishamael, one of the most powerful Forsaken. He takes her hand and promises to help. In her dreams, Liandrin meets Lanfear, who orders her to kill someone and threatens her if she fails. Meanwhile, the Black Ajahs are searching for missing objects that were once placed on the statues in Tachinco. Their master expects them to find these items, and failure is not an option. As they continue their search, Moghedien is in the shadows, quietly listening to Liandrin’s conversation with the other Black Ajahs, waiting for the right moment to make her move.
On the other hand, Nynaeve, Mat, Min, and Elayne are getting ready to find Liandrin in Tachinco. They have worn dresses and are keeping their faces hidden, so no one could recognise them. Although they are searching for the objects as well, getting to Liandrin is important so that she is not able to use these powerful objects to help the enemies.
Egwene’s Struggle in the Dreamworld and Rand’s Unstable Power
While Nynaeve and the group search for Liandrin, Moiraine and the group continue their journey after visiting Rhuidean. Egwene, after witnessing that disastrous dream, comes to the Wise Ones and tells them that she went into the Dreamworld with Moiraine. The wise ones are furious with her for doing so, but Egwene says that she wants to stop Lanfear in Tel’aran’rhiod. However, the Wise Ones say that she can’t do that in Tel’aran’rhiod, but in her dreams, she does have the power to do that. On the other hand, Moiraine meets Lanfear in her dream, who asks her about what she saw in Rhuidean. She doesn’t tell her anything, and Lanfear believes that Moiraine is helping her so that she (Lanfear) won’t kill her. Their conversation ends with Lanfear telling Moiraine that she was sending a surprise for Rand al’Thor and wants him to handle it. Meanwhile, Rand al’Thor is getting to know the people of the Tribe and forming a good relationship with them.
Egwene is still trying to figure out how she can stop Lanfear in her dreams. She and the Wise Ones enter her Dreamworld and tell her to push them out of her dream. They wanted to check if she could do it or not. Initially, she wasn’t able to do it, but she eventually ended up pushing them out of her dream. However, things go worse when she is also pushed out of her dream and finds herself chained to a monument that looks like a wheel. Without any guesses, Lanfear confronted her about what she saw in the dream last time and if she liked it or not. Egwene said that Rand al’Thor doesn’t know your reality, to which Lanfear says that he does. Egwene doesn’t submit to her and tells her that if Rand gets to know that she laid a hand on her, he’ll not forgive him. As soon as she says this, Lanfear puts her hand around her neck, and Egwene comes out of her dream. The Wise Ones tell her to be strong because only then will she be able to defeat her.
While Egwene is trying to re-enter the dreamworld, Moiraine and Rand talk to each other. Rand asks Moiraine about what she was in Rhuidean and asks if he goes mad. Moiraine says “sometimes.” When he asks about killing Egwene and her, Moiraine still says “sometimes.” She is visibly shaken after what she has seen and the possession of the sa’angreal. She feels that every time she submits to it, she is not able to control the power. Rand tells her to stop submitting and look beyond that. At the same moment, he also showcased the power he possesses, and Moiraine had to snap him out of his thoughts to stop all the shaking.
Moghedien takes control, while the Forsaken attacks Rand al’Thor
At Tachinco, the ground finally got their hands on one of the bracelets they were looking for. Nynaeve takes hold of that bracelet and keeps it with her. She and Elayne were in the room when Moghedien channeled her powers, taking control of their minds. She asks them everything about why they were here and what they were looking for. When she asked what they and the Black Ajahs were looking for, the duo told Moghedien that they were searching for a ‘Seanchan’ collar—one that had been worn by a man, not a woman. Moreover, they tell her about the Dragon Reborn as well, and his name, too. When Moghedian asks about his whereabouts, they say they didn’t know where he was, but they’ll tell you whenever they get that information. Shockingly, they tell her that they got the second bracelet and gave it to her. While giving the bracelet to her, Nynaeve showed her resistance, but she couldn’t do anything. Moghedien told them that she’d come again for more information. As soon as she leaves their room, the effect of her magic also leaves their minds, and they realize that the bracelet is now missing.
Finally, after not being able to talk to each other for so long, Egwene and Rand al’Thor talk to each other as Egwene confronts her about Lanfear. Egwene told her what she saw and whether he knew the reality. Egwene asks her if he loves Lanfear, and when he is unable to answer that question, she understands that he does love her. Conversely, Rand says that Egwene never loved her and asks her about traveling to the dreamworld. However, Egwene said that if he knew about how Lanfear tortured her in her dreams, Rand said that he didn’t know about it. As the conversation continued, they were attacked by one of the forsaken, Sammael, and his men. They attacked the duo, and when it looked like Sammael might hit Rand with a catastrophic hit, Aviendha came in and saved them. In the end, Rand uses his power to kill Sammael through lightning strikes. Unfortunately, the rock-made structure also got destroyed in the process and killed the little girl he was talking to earlier. He tries using his power to bring her back, but can’t do so, which shatters him.
The War is Coming to the Two Rivers?
Perrin and Alanna are badly injured. Perrin needed someone to heal him, but Alanna injured herself and couldn’t heal him. However, the two young girls who were saved by Perrin visited Alanna and said that they could help her. Alanna assists them in channeling their healing powers to heal her, telling Maksim that she always knew that the mountains had channelers. On the other hand, viewers get to see Padan Fain for the first time this season, and he joins the White Cloaks, telling them he could help them in their war against the people of Two Rivers. The episode ends with an army making its way to the Two Rivers, and it’s time for the people of the Two Rivers to go to war.
