Releasing games in early access can hardly surprise anyone these days. However, unlike most other developers, Semiwork holds a strong connection with players by releasing various videos and news on its YouTube channel. And in one of the latest videos, they introduced a new mechanic. Therefore, in this guide, we will tell you about the REPO Overcharge mechanic and how it will affect the gameplay.
The new mechanic will significantly complicate the game, especially for players accustomed to throwing all enemies into pits or on the surface. At the same time, the late game will become more exciting than usual.

How to Use Energy Crystals in REPO
If you’re wondering how to get and use Energy Crystals in REPO, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s all you need to know.
How the Overcharge Mechanic Works in REPO
One of the best strategies for countering monsters in REPO is to slam them into solid surfaces or throw them into the abyss. While this works easily with smaller enemies, larger ones like the Clown require purchasing many Power Upgrades. However, in the late game, at least one player has enough power to kill any monster solo. The new Overcharge mechanic will limit the use of this strategy in REPO, as your semibot will explode if you pick up heavy enemies carelessly.
With the addition of the Overcharge mechanic, a new indicator in the upper left corner of your stamina will appear in the form of a red counter. It will appear as soon as a player picks up an enemy. The counter counts from 1 to 100, after which you explode and are thrown back into REPO. As with other explosions, your character will become uncontrollable for a few seconds due to the Tumble Launch animation. The filling rate of the Overcharge meter depends on how heavy the target you lift is.
And you should be wary of this explosion, since in addition to knockback, it deals damage. It is not yet known exactly how deadly the REPO Overcharge explosion is. But you will receive more than 40 damage. We can assume that such an explosion can also destroy enemies with low HP.
Also, the new mechanics encourage teamwork. If you lift an enemy together with your teammates, the rate at which the Overcharge meter fills will be significantly lower.

Does Overcharge Mechanic Affect Values?
At first glance, it may seem that the new mechanics will complicate the quota fulfillment. Fortunately, the Overcharge mechanic in REPO only affects interactions with monsters. So whether it is a light cup or a heavy piano, you can lift them as before without fear of exploding.
