Until now, it hasn’t really mattered which card players choose when performing a Wonder Pick in Pokemon TCG Pocket. While this remains true to a certain extent, the Sneak Peek Campaign gives players another bite of the apple, allowing them to massively increase their Wonder Pick odds in certain situations.

Players can find other people to trade with in this Pokemon TCG Pocket trade request thread.
Unfortunately, the game does a fairly poor job of explaining the Sneak Peek mechanic and when exactly players will be able to use it, leading to a fair amount of confusion among the fandom. This guide will aim to clear up some of that uncertainty by explaining how Sneak Peeks work in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
How to Use Sneak Peek in Pokemon TCG Pocket
The first thing to note is that not all Wonder Picks will be eligible for Sneak Peeks during the campaign period. In fact, players won’t know whether they’ll be able to use the Sneak Peek mechanic until after they’ve started the Wonder Pick process. If they’re lucky, a message will appear on their screen after the cards have been shuffled, at which point, they’ll be given the opportunity to sneak a peek at one of the five cards.
The chances of players triggering Sneak Peek seem to be around 50/50, although your mileage may vary.
Assuming they get the Sneak Peek message, players should click on the card that they want to sneak a look at, which will cause an orange magnifying glass to appear over it. They’ll then be able to press the Take a Peek button at the bottom of the screen, after which, they’ll get to see what’s on the other side of the card. If it’s something that they want, they should select the same card again. If it’s not, they should choose one of the other four cards.
Sneak Peek Odds of Success
Assuming there’s only one card that players want to get from a Wonder Pick, using Sneak Peek doubles their chances of success, with the odds of getting that card jumping from 20% to 40%. However, suppose players use the optimal Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick strategy, which sees them wait until two cards that they need show up in the same Wonder Pick. In such instances, Sneak Peek takes the odds from 40% to 70%, making this a great way to pick up any art rares or ex cards that are still missing from the player’s collection.
The odds given above assume that Sneak Peek has already been triggered. Assuming the odds of triggering Sneak Peek are indeed 50%, then the actual chances of success are more like 30% for a single card Wonder Pick and 55% when there are two cards that the player wants. With this in mind, players may want to avoid wasting hourglasses on Wonder Picks with only one card that they need.
