One Piece chapter 1145 was absolutely spectacular in many ways and gave fans yet another look at the character of Rocks D. Xebec. Xebec was first introduced to the fans long before the Elbaf arc, around the time of the Wano Country arc. In One Piece chapter 957, Oda mentioned Rocks Pirates for the very first time, and it is here that this legendary pirate was first revealed.

As the years passed, Oda kept on revealing bits and pieces about Rocks, with the whole God Valley Incident that led to his death eventually being covered in part during Kuma’s flashback. One Piece chapter 1145 has now added even more depth to Rocks D. Xebec. This time around, fans found out that long ago, Loki wanted to be a member of the Rocks Pirates. Loki set out to the sea on multimeter occasions and he tried his best to join forces with Xebec.
Unfortunately for him, he was completely rejected by him, which was rather unfortunate. Loki even challenged Xebec to a fight, which ended horribly for him, giving him a fresh taste of defeat, but at the same time, it goes to show that Loki is never afraid to try his luck against the strongest, no matter what.

Oda Gives Rocks Character Moments For The First Time
Fans might be confused upon reading that Oda has only now shown Rocks in the story. After all, One Piece chapter 957 gave them their first glimpse of Xebec, and chapter 1001 showed him once again. The Kuma flashback also added more depth to the story of Xebec, but this is different. Up until now, fans had only heard of Rocks from other sources. Sengoku first spoke of Rocks, and later Big Mom and Kaido did as well. In the Kuma flashback, fans got to hear one off-panel dialogue from him.

However, in the Loki flashback, Rocks D. Xebec is getting characterization for the very first time, which goes to show how incredibly exciting all this is. Fans are finally getting to see what Xebec thinks and how he speaks, what kind of personality he holds, and what relationships he fostered with the likes of Loki and Whitebeard. Fans are also getting a first-hand look at how strong Rocks truly is, and not just hearing it from other people.
Finally, Oda has started to incorporate Rocks D. Xebec in the story, which is absolutely massive because from here on out, he is guaranteed to play a much bigger role in the Final Saga.
Of course, Rocks still remains to be in silhouette and fans don’t know what he truly looks like just yet. But, it is only a matter of time before that’s revealed to the fans as well. When Oda explores Loki’s flashback to the fullest, he will most likely give fans a better look at Loki’s meeting with the Rocks Pirates, his time with Xebec, and how he was inspired by him. It is only a matter of time, and fans are already eager to see more.
