For the first character of the new season, Anna is excellent and has many options at her disposal, making her fit in with the overall design philosophy of the latest patch: Stance mix-ups for days. She can be suffocating on offense when she gets going, thanks to her new tools and the Heat systems and mechanics!
Anna Williams Overview
Anna Williams is the first character to kick off Season Two of Tekken 8, showcasing the baseline design philosophy of this season, which is having a significant focus on strings that lead into her stances, while also having access to moves that have potent tracking properties, making it challenging to sidestep or react to her suffocating offense.
In short, Anna Williams is an excellent and strong fighter in this game and will be tough to deal with on the receiving end once she gets going. Despite her having access to three unique stances, she isn’t terribly difficult to pick up and play, which is seemingly the point of this season.
She has excellent launchers and counter-hit potential and even has access to many high-damaging combos, making her tremendously fun to play and excessively annoying to face. Whether you’re a longtime fan of hers or are picking her up for the first time, you will likely enjoy what she’s capable of and how she controls!

As always, Anna has access to a massive move list that extends well beyond what we’re showcasing here, and we strongly recommend loading into Training Mode and going over it to see everything she can do. Anna Williams Tips And Tricks
Before we wrap things up, we want to highlight some more tips and tricks you can implement with Anna Williams to get even more out of her offense. Her Headless Horseman attack (fF 1+2) is one of her strongest, newest actions in Tekken 8 and can be even deadlier with proper spacing.
Even if your opponent blocks the Headless Horseman, Anna will be at an advantage of +4, allowing her to follow up with some nifty attacks that can force her opponent to guess. A common follow-up is her Uppercut Jab (d/f 1, 2), allowing her to jail them. Another solid option is her Wine Opener (d/f 4), as it is an excellent low that can catch them sleeping if they remain stand guarding.
Not only that, but this move is a tracking high, which makes it very tricky to deal with, as it is fast. However, if you rely on it too much, it can be ducked since it’s a high attack, so try being a bit unpredictable with it to get the most out of it, as it is one of her best mix-up tools that require almost no effort setting up!
