Here’s where to find all the Second Sea Rods in Roblox: Fisch!

To make your journey easier, we’ve put together a complete progression guide for the Second Sea. We will walk you through the basics of earning currency, which rods to aim for first, and which locations are worth your time. Whether you’re just arriving or looking to optimize your fishing, this guide will give you a clear roadmap to success.

Second Sea Progression Guide

The player character stays in the middle of the Isle of New Beginnings island in Fisch.

Before you can make serious progress in the Second Sea, note that the currency here is different. Instead of the familiar Credits from the First Sea, the Second Sea uses Embercoins. These two currencies are not interchangeable, and you can’t convert one into the other. Fortunately, earning Embercoins follows the same methods as in First Sea:

  • Selling fish
  • Completing quests
  • Completing local bestiaries
  • Opening crates and chests
  • Daily bonuses
  • Perfect Catch bonuses
  • Redeeming codes
  • Buying Embercoins with Robux

Once you’ve got a few Embercoins in your pocket, the next step is upgrading your rod — and this is where things get interesting.

Best Rods

The player character shows his inventory with two best Second Sea rods in Fisch.

A common mistake many newcomers make is continuing to use their top-tier First Sea rods, like Heaven’s Rod or Rod of the Depths. While they’re still useful, all First Sea rods suffer a 50 percent stat reduction in the Second Sea.

Those First Sea rods can still outperform the starter rods you will find early on in Second Sea, so don’t throw them out just yet. Use them as stepping stones until you can afford something better.

The player character stays next to the Verdant Shear Rod in the Lushgrove area in Fisch.

Your first goal should be to get your hands on the Verdant Shear Rod. This fantastic fishing rod is famous for its excellent stats and passive ability: you have a ten percent chance of initiating tree growth. And while this tree is growing, all fish are guaranteed to receive a mutation that will triple their value. It’s a great way to increase your income and get access to more advanced gear faster.

This fishing rod will cost you 40,000E$. You can find it at the following coordinates: 165, 115, 730.

The player character stays next to the Free Spirit Rod in the Angler on Isle Of New Beginnings area in Fisch.

After obtaining the Verdant Shear Rod, your next target should be the Free Spirit Rod. You can buy it for 200,000E$ on Isle Of New Beginnings at the following coordinates: -390, -80, 390. This rod offers extremely high luck, making it ideal for farming rare fish. Also, it comes with two powerful passives:

  • A 20 percent chance to activate Skeletal Flowering, which drops purple gems that apply the Bloom mutation, increasing the value of the fish by five times.
  • A stab ability that advances minigame progress by six percent and ignores any Progress Speed debuffs.
The player character stays next to the Great Dreamer Rod in The Cursed Shores area in Fisch.

Finally, the last rod worthy of your attention is the Great Dreamer Rod. This is currently the most expensive rod in Second Sea, which will cost you 500,000E$. You can find it in The Cursed Shores at the following coordinates: 2875, 165, 530. If you’re aiming for big fish that are hard to catch, this rod is the one for you.

It has one of the highest lure speeds and high resilience. Like the previous rods, it also has cool passive abilities. In this case, you have a chance to summon Cthulhu to help you catch fish.

There is also a five percent chance that the Cursed Touch mutation will be applied to the catch, which increases the price of the fish by five times.

Best Spots For Fishing

Now that you’ve got the rods, you will want to know where to use them for the best results. Out of all the available islands, there are two that stand out:

  • Isle of New Beginnings — the best island for early progression. It features exotic fish that are fairly easy to catch and provide generous amounts of coins and experience. It’s a great spot to start farming Embercoins fast.
  • Azure Lagoon another excellent location, packed with a variety of high-value fish. It’s a solid option once you’ve built up a stronger rod setup.

To boost your efficiency even further, consider initiating the Aurora Borealis event during your fishing runs on these islands. This increases your overall luck, which is crucial for catching rare and valuable fish.

You can trigger the Aurora Borealis with the Aurora Totem, which is purchasable for 500,000C$ back in the First Sea at Brine Pool, at the following coordinates: -1810, -135, -3280. It’s a smart investment for night fishing, which is when the rarest and most profitable fish tend to spawn.
