Before you can make serious progress in the Second Sea, note that the currency here is different. Instead of the familiar Credits from the First Sea, the Second Sea uses Embercoins. These two currencies are not interchangeable, and you can’t convert one into the other. Fortunately, earning Embercoins follows the same methods as in First Sea:

Once you’ve got a few Embercoins in your pocket, the next step is upgrading your rod — and this is where things get interesting.
Best Rods
A common mistake many newcomers make is continuing to use their top-tier First Sea rods, like Heaven’s Rod or Rod of the Depths. While they’re still useful, all First Sea rods suffer a 50 percent stat reduction in the Second Sea.
Those First Sea rods can still outperform the starter rods you will find early on in Second Sea, so don’t throw them out just yet. Use them as stepping stones until you can afford something better.
Your first goal should be to get your hands on the Verdant Shear Rod. - A 20 percent chance to activate Skeletal Flowering, which drops purple gems that apply the Bloom mutation, increasing the value of the fish by five times.
- A stab ability that advances minigame progress by six percent and ignores any Progress Speed debuffs.
Finally, the last rod worthy of your attention is the Great Dreamer Rod. This is currently the most expensive rod in Second Sea, which will cost you 500,000E$. - Azure Lagoon — another excellent location, packed with a variety of high-value fish. It’s a solid option once you’ve built up a stronger rod setup.
