While scenarios teach new players the different gameplay loops in The Sims 4, they can also give experienced players new ideas and new storylines to try with their own Sims.

In The New in Town Scenario, players will follow Farrah Nouvel as she moves into a new town. Her goal is to make friends with the neighbors and throw a great house party, but its success and just how close she gets to her neighbors are entirely up to the players. This particular playthrough will show players how to get the Instant Friends ending, but there are a few endings available, so players should run the scenario a few times to try them all.

How To Complete the New in Town Scenario in The Sims 4

Players can choose which world and lot to play in when selecting the scenario. The world and lot don’t really matter, so players should choose whichever is their favorite. Keep in mind that, because this scenario involves a lot of socialization, it’s better to choose one with many social places.

Once players have selected the world and lot, the scenario begins. There are X phases, each with official and optional objectives. The optional objectives can steer the player to specific endings. Once players have completed all of the official objectives, the scenario moves on to the next phase.

How To Complete Phase 1 of the New in Town Scenario in The Sims 4

The first phase in the New in Town Scenario involves players introducing themselves to the neighbors and working on their Charisma skills. The main objectives include:

Going to a festival, if one is active, is a great idea because it gives Farrah plenty of opportunities to complete the next major objective. She needs to socialize with 10 people, and it’s easy for her to do so when she’s in a group.

Just have her join a big group of people and ensure she’s talking to everyone. If players want to complete the Get To Know Someone (3 Times) optional objective, then make sure she’s socializing with three specific people more than others.

After socializing with 10 people, Farrah will receive the next objective. She needs to go to a bar or a gym. Completing the optional objective of taking someone with her is easy. Just choose whoever Farrah has the strongest relationship with at that point. For players who want Farrah to find romance, they should choose the person they are trying to woo.

Depending on whether the player goes to the bar or the gym, they’ll receive objectives specific to that area. For the gym, the player really only needs to go home as the main objective, but it’s worth taking care of some of the optional objectives, especially if the player is looking to have Farrah make a best friend or a lover.

The optional objectives include things like putting on athletic wear, introducing Farrah to someone, telling jokes, and drinking a moodlet solver. For the latter, Farrah has a moodlet solver in her inventory already. It’s worth taking since it can help reset some of the negative moods that she’s experiencing.

The next thing players should do is complete the one-hour workout objective. Whether Farrah traveled with someone or not, it’s worth working out with someone in a group so she can keep socializing. She can also complete the optional objective of telling jokes by using the appropriate actions while working out with someone.

Once players have completed all the objectives they want to, send Farrah home to complete the first phase.

How To Complete Phase 2 of the New in Town Scenario in The Sims 4

After Farrah has arrived home, she’ll have a new set of objectives to complete. This phase is all about making friends and making them good friends. For those trying to have Farrah get into a romance, it’s also about laying down that romantic foundation. The main objectives of this phase include:

First, players should invite someone to their house to help Farrah become friends with them. To make the process even faster, invite whoever has the highest relationship with her. When they’re at Farrah’s home, socialize with them to keep building Farrah’s Charisma skills.

Once they become Farrah’s friends, it’s time to visit the neighbors. Choose a neighbor with at least two other people in it. The goal is to make both of them Farrah’s friends, too. When Farrah arrives at her neighbor’s home, she must complete the Knock on Door objective.

If players are in worlds that don’t have a lot of neighbors, just move a family from the Gallery into a nearby home.

After making three friends, the next part of phase two begins. Farrah will have to go hang out somewhere with the new friends that she’s made. An additional option allows her to focus on just one friend, which begins her romance. Choose whichever option fits best for the particular playthrough.

Before players start a hangout event, they should first have Farrah complete the Psych Yourself Up optional objective. To do so, just have Farrah interact with a nearby mirror. Now that she’s feeling confident, it’s time to pick up the phone and choose where she can hang out with the friends she just made. Players can choose any hangout, but it should be a place built for socializing.

Like the previous phase at the gym or bar, the main objective here is to go home. Instead of going home immediately, players should complete the optional objectives to become good friends with one or several Sims. Players may need to spend some time socializing with their friends to receive the Good Friend tag.

Once players feel they have enough good friends, it’s time to head home. Completing this main objective will take players to the third, and final, phase of the New in Town Scenario in The Sims 4.

The final phase has Farrah preparing and hosting a party. She’ll have to decide what kind of party to host, and then make the appropriate preparations. Success with this particular phase will determine how well-known Farrah is in her neighborhood. One of the first main objectives is to:

Different optional objectives will appear depending on whether players choose a house or a dinner party. To ensure Farrah throws the best party, players should try to complete all of these optional objectives before time is up and the party ends. Some optional objectives the player might encounter include:

• Buy a Bar
• Cook a Group Meal

Now, when the phase kicks off, whoever Farrah’s Good Friend is will call her and give her some tips about throwing a successful party. It’s worth reading the tips since they basically tell the player how to throw a great party. Preparations are key.

Once players feel they have prepared as much as possible, such as making food, providing entertainment, and making drinks, it’s time to start the party. Players must access the phone and head to the Social tab to do so. From there, players should click on the Plan a Social Event option.

A list of different social events will pop up. Players can choose either the house or the dinner party option. From there, it’s time to invite those coming and choose where the party is happening. Choose Farrah’s close friends, and then select her home as the location for the party.

The guests will start arriving, so if players haven’t prepared food and drinks, it’s time to get a move on. There are several main objectives that Farrah needs to complete before the party is over. The objectives for the dinner party include:

The most important objective is to call guests to a meal. Players can save it for last, but they should make sure Farrah completes the goal before the party ends.

The trickiest objective is to have three Sims dance together, but there’s a trick that can make it a lot easier. Using the Group function, players can form a Group of the party’s guests and then, as a Group, dance to the music. To form a Group, players just need to click on themselves and then click on the Actions tab. From there, they can click on the Form a Group tab and add all the party members to the Group.

As the party progresses, players must keep completing as many objectives as possible. The more objectives they complete, the more successful the party is and the better Farrah’s reputation will be. The party ends when the timer runs out. The scenario also ends, giving the player a specific ending based on their choices and actions.
