When Avatar hit theaters in 2009, crowds were blown away at the alien world that James Cameron crafted on screen. 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water continued that trend with Cameron crafting an underwater world that exceeded imaginations. Next up for the franchise was the 2023 Ubisoft-developed Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The video game continued the world building of Pandora, setting players off on an adventure that takes place on the never-before-seen Western Frontier.
Now, you can experience that adventure at home for just $10. The sale comes courtesy of Walmart. The retailer has the action-adventure title discounted by $39 on Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation version of the game is also on sale, currently priced at $28 ($22 off).

Inside The Frontiers Of Pandora
Upon its release, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora had mixed reactions. It sits at a solid 72% on MetaCritic, but one thing that was pretty universally lauded was the title’s incredibly detailed world. Adrian Morales’ Frontiers of Pandora review for GameRant stated the same, praising Massive Entertainment’s effort in bringing a Pandora to life that rivals the movie series itself.
In the game, you take on the role of a customizable Na’vi character that was kidnapped by the RDA to serve as an ambassador between the humans and Na’vi. Sixteen years following the events of the 2009 film, your character (referred to as the Sarentu) is awakened from a cryogenic chamber to escape an attempted assassination.
The Xbox Series X|S version of the game is currently only available for in-store pickup or via delivery through Walmart+. The PlayStation 5 version is only available through standard shipping.
The first-person action adventure plays a lot like a Far Cry title, which isn’t shocking given that both are published by Ubisoft. In the game, you’ll learn to utilize weapons of both human and Na’vi origin. On the human/RDA side, you have assault rifles, shotguns, explosives, and more at your disposal. But while embracing your Na’vi heritage, you’ll take out enemies with bows, spears, and more natural weapon types.
As you explore the previously unseen continent of the Western Front, you’ll also have the opportunity to bond with an ikran of your very own and take to the skies. This allows for travel to be much more streamlined across the vast landscape. You’ll have the opportunity to experience aerial combat while riding the creatures, too.
You don’t have to go out on this adventure alone, though. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora allows for the majority of the story campaign to be enjoyed cooperatively. So, if you have a friend online you’d like to explore this vibrant world with, you can do so after checking off the first few prologue missions of the game.
Crossplay is also supported for friends who would look to play together on different consoles.
If you enjoy your time with Frontiers of Pandora, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment also put out a pair of story DLC packs. The Sky Breaker was released in July 2024. Following that in November was Secrets of the Spires, which brought players to a new mountainous area dubbed Spires of the Clouded.
Take advantage of Walmart’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora while you can. Getting it for $10 on Xbox Series X|S or $28 is a pretty great deal to explore a pretty awesome world.
