Pikachu – Spark

Though this basic Pikachu card also has 60 HP, which is about average for a basic Pokemon. This card has a specific move all its own. This Pikachu has the move Spark, allowing it to do ten damage to a benched Pokemon. Being able to deal damage to benched Pokemon is always nice, sometimes even better than damaging the active Pokemon.

You can put some much-needed damage on a Basic setup Pokemon before they evolve, telling your opponent and forcing them to send out an already damaged evolution. If you can capitalize, you can potentially create combos that wipe out any major threats. Unfortunately, ten damage isn’t a lot, and in most cases, it won’t be enough. Alongside this issue, requiring several cards to make this basic card viable is additionally frustrating.

Pikachu – Circle Circuit

This Pikachu card is interesting, as it has some very specific but helpful play options over the other cards, thanks to its Circle Circuit move. The damage of Circle Circuit scales based on the number of Electric Pokemon you have currently benched, dealing an additional ten damage for each one there. While you may not have a lot of electric Pokemon benched at the beginning of the game, you could potentially try your luck, loading your bench with electric Pokemon if you’re lucky enough to draw several in your starting hand. It’d be a literal shock to take 30+ damage at the start of the game for just one Electric energy.

Usually, you won’t be that lucky, but a decent setup and a single retreat cost mean you can strategically put this Pikachu in the active zone to deal decent damage for one energy and then evolve into Raichu if necessary. While this card isn’t amazing, it does have potential to deal more damage than its counterparts, however it requires a but too much to do so. The Kimura artwork is a beautiful touch, though.

Pikachu – Gnaw

This card featuring the original adorable chubby Pikachu in its artwork is definitely a classic look. The card itself isn’t very good; with just 60 HP and an attack that does 20 damage for just one Electric energy, you won’t get much out of this specific Pikachu aside from maybe a turn or two while hoping for a Raichu to evolve onto it.

This card does get a shoutout because it gives you great classic imagery, which fits perfectly with the release of the first set in Pokemon Pocket. The nostalgia is worth having this card in your collection, but otherwise, it’s an easy pass for your deck.

Chubby Pikachu gets a bit of a facelift with these Promo cards. It’s the same card mechanically, with 60 HP and 20 damage moves that require one electric energy. The only difference is that this Promo card has a beautiful, unique flair. The Vol 1 Promo A is an adorable look at the yellow mouse in its slimmer frame, looking through the forest. The blue Pokeball symbol on the side denotes the card as a collector’s item.

The full art version of the card is gorgeous. It includes the other starters, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and even Eevee, who are all framing Pikachu for this special edition of the card. The glowing edges are the perfect accent to tie in the artwork for a card that’s functionally average. It may just be an evolution target at best, but it’s a darn good-looking one. Obtainable as a present, it’s much easier to get for players who have logged in consistently as it was free, putting it a bit lower on the list with the same card stats as the others.

Yes, another entry of the same card; however, this time, it’s in gorgeous full art. There’s not much to say about the mechanics of this card, as it is the same Gnaw attack that deals 20 damage with one Electric energy. This card was available for players through the paid shop in TCG Pocket, allowing those who subscribed to retrieve it for a limited time.

Pikachu ex

The card that made one of the most successful decks with the release of Genetic Apex. Pikachu ex was an unstoppable force, and the Electric-type deck had everyone either scrambling to make one or find a way to deal with Pikachu. Whether you build the Pikachu ex and Zapdos deck or the Pikachu ex and Zebstrika deck, there was a time when the meta had to bow down to the Pokemon mascot.

With 120 HP, you’ll need to work around to one hit KO this ex Pokemon. However, with a bench full of electric Pokemon, which is easy to do, this Pikachu takes out almost every opponent in a single attack for only two electric energy. This is easily the best Pikachu card in the game right now; the only drawback, of course, is that ex Pokemon will make you lose two points when they faint, so be extra careful. There are several ways to take out 120 HP at once, but that doesn’t make this card any less useful.

Pikachu ex – Immersive And Full Art

Pikachu ex is also one of the special immersive cards the game has. One of very few, these cards have gorgeous animations that delve into the artwork itself. This Pikachu is a favorite, as the animation delves into a gorgeous forest with some of the most recognizable Pokemon in their natural habitat. It’s a magical experience, with the immersion really meaning just that.

You splash into the card, observing Pokemon in their natural habitat until the card animation ends, and you’re returned to the original position. Regarding the card stats, they are the same as the Genetic Apex Pikachu ex. One of the rarest cards to grab, the golden full-art version of the same card is also top-rated. You can show off your Pikachu ex deck with your immersive or golden card collection if you’re a real Piakchu fan.
