Lego‘s Lord of the Rings set modeled after The Shire is finally here. After months of rumors and then an official reveal at the end of March, the new set is finally available to buy starting today. Not only that, but for a limited time, when you buy the set, you will get two smaller ones thrown in for free.

Lego’s Shire set is the third Lord of the Rings set in as many years as Lego has been releasing one LOTR set per year. In 2023, it was Rivendell, Barad-dur followed in 2024, and now The Shire joins it. Best of all, it’s the smallest, and therefore the cheapest, Lord of the Rings set of the modern era. 2,017 pieces, and it costs $269.99, available exclusively through the Lego store via the link in the box below.

Rumoured $1,000 Lego Death Star Could Be The Fourth Biggest Set Of All Time

Another rumor has surfaced about the Lego Death Star, this time about its potentially massive piece count.

Yes, that is still pretty pricey for a Lego set, but there’s a lot of it. You will also get another two sets along with it if you bite the bullet and buy your Lego Shire sooner rather than later. As was the case with 2024’s Lego Barad-dur, The Shire comes with a Lord of the Rings sidekick set that money can’t buy. Once the limited-time offer ends, that’s probably your last chance of ever adding it to your collection.

Lego’s Shire Set Is Here And Comes With Two Smaller Sets For Free

Smeagol And Deagol, And An Easter Bunny Surprise

Last year’s free set was a Lego Fellbeast, this year, as previously revealed, it’s a Lego recreation of the moment Smeagol and Deagol discover The One Ring. Lord of the Rings fans will know that’s quite a dark deep cut from LOTR lore to turn into toy bricks. The set, which is 181 pieces, includes Minifigures of the cousins in a fishing spot, and there’s even a little Lego replica of The One Ring.

You will need to buy The Shire set between now and April 8 if you want it to come with a free Smeagol and Deagol set. However, if you want an additional free set, which has nothing to do with Lord of the Rings, you’ll need to pick it up today. Lego is currently giving away an Easter Bunny Surprise set with any purchases (excluding pre-orders) that come to $75 or more. Since the LOTR set comfortably clears that barrier, it qualifies.

The Lord of the Rings: The Shire

The Shire is joining the Lord of the Rings locations that have been immortalized as Lego sets. Made up of 2,017 pieces, the set is a recreation of Bag End, Bilbo Baggins’ home, and includes nine Minifigures based on Bilbo, Gandalf, and other characters from The Lord of the Rings.

There’s a strong chance Lego bucks its one per year rule and we get a second Lord of the Rings set in 2025. Rumors have been swirling suggesting a set that depicts Gandalf’s battle with a Balrog in The Fellowship of the Ring will kick off a new collection of book nook sets. The sets have reportedly been designed to fit neatly on bookshelves and effectively act as themed Lego bookends that you build yourself. The set will be released over the summer if the leaks are accurate.
