Dragon Age: Most Arrogant Characters, Ranked

The Dragon Age series is home to many self-important people, but these particular characters are arguably the most arrogant.

With so many characters met over the years of gaming, some of these characters have become true staples of the franchise, with them either making multiple appearances or becoming memorable enough to make players think back on them with happy memories. Out of all the characters players have been introduced to over the years of the Dragon Age franchise, these are by far the best of them, ranked.

8

Solas

The Highly Complex Dread Wolf

  • Appears in: Dragon Age: Inquisition and Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Solas is quite the fascinating character in the Dragon Age franchise, with many fans of the games being divided on whether they love or hate this secretive elf. During the events of Dragon Age: Inquisition, Solas appears to be a good friend to the Inquisitor as one of the three mage companions available for the player to take along with them on their adventures.

However, by the end of the Trespasser DLC, Solas is revealed to be the Dread Wolf, the ancient elf that trapped the elven gods. With this god being trapped in the player’s head during the events of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players are able to learn much more about Solas to finally define their opinion of him.

7

Hawke

One Of The Most Memorable Heroes

  • Appears in: Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition

Across the Dragon Age franchise, there have been multiple heroes the player has been able to control. While each of them deserves a valid place as one of the best characters in Dragon Age, Hawke is a cut above the rest.

Dragon Age 2 may have had its difficulties when it was first released, but players still grew to adore Hawke as the main character of the game. From Hawke having some of the most unhinged lines out of all the main characters due to the purple Hawke options being some of the best, Hawke even proved their importance due to the sacrifice they were willing to make in Dragon Age: Inquisition, which was not an easy choice for players to make.

6

Dog

A Loyal Companion For Two Of The Games

  • Appears in: Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2

Characters in Dragon Age don’t only have to be humanoid, as one of the most loyal characters in the games has been the four-legged, adorable dog. With players being able to name the dog whatever they wish, this companion has taken a slot from other companions in Dragon Age: Origins, as he even makes a great ally in battle.

Dragon Age: Companions With The Best Stories, Ranked

Many Dragon Age companions offer great stories, but some tales are arguably better than others.

Dog can be interacted with just like any other character, though admittedly the most amusing thing about this hound is how other companions in Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2 have interacted with this canine companion.

5

Dorian Pavus

A Confident And Relatable Companion

  • Appears in: Dragon Age: Inquisition and Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The Companions of Dragon Age: Inquisition are arguably some of the best in the franchise due to how unique each character felt within the game. This has led characters like Dorian to be some of the best characters of the franchise due to how relatable and witty he is when interacting with the Inquisitor.

Besides his very touching companion questline where he finally talks to his father about his sexuality and how he attempted to change him with blood magic, seeing Dorian grow as a confident character where he hopes to return to Tevinter to make a difference is finally fulfilled with The Veilguard where players finally meet the possible next Archon.

4

Alistair

One Of The Most Supportive Characters

  • Appears in: Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition

Even with characters getting better and better as the franchise has continued, some classic characters, like Alistair from Dragon Age: Origins, are still some of the best in the franchise. Alistair is a great addition to the cast of Dragon Age: Origins due to him being in the same situation as the player, with them both being two of the only remaining Grey Wardens in Ferelden during the Blight.

He allows the player to take the lead due to the feeling that he can’t be responsible enough, but through the support of the player, Alistair can possibly become king. While he can’t be a companion again, depending on the choices made, Alistair can be seen again as either the King of Ferelden or another option to possibly sacrifice himself in Dragon Age: Inquisition if he remained a Warden.

3

Flemeth

The All-Knowing Witch Of The Wilds

  • Appears in: Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition

Flemeth is quite the mysterious character that has appeared multiple times across the franchise to push the epic stories of this RPG forward. From nursing the Warden back to health in Dragon Age: Origins, saving Hawke in Dragon Age 2, to giving her power to defeat Corypheus in Dragon Age: Inquisition, Flemeth has always had some sort of connection to the future of the games.

Knowing who to have by your side in a fight can make all the difference.

Although it was sad to see her not make some sort of return in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, players are sure to have enjoyed their previous encounters with this Witch of the Wilds, who once held a fragment of the Elven Goddess Mythal.

2

Morrigan

A Companion, An Advisor, A Living Fragment Of A God

  • Appears in: Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard

With players finding Flemeth to be one of the best characters, they love her daughter Morrigan even more. Seeing Morrigan grow as a character across many of the games in the Dragon Age franchise, players have watched her go from an isolated apostate hiding in the forest to a woman that would one day save the world again.

Each game has shown how Morrigan has grown as a person, with her becoming an incredibly protective mother in Dragon Age: Inquisition if the ritual or romance was done with her in Origins. By the time of the events of Veilguard, she had even grown to the point of accepting a part of Mythal, which is something she had been resisting for many years.

1

Varric Tethras

The Storyteller That All Have Come To Love

Unsurprisingly, players have deemed the best character in the Dragon Age franchise to be Varric Tethras, an incredible storyteller, but most importantly a loyal friend to the player for many of the games. Players first met Varric during Dragon Age 2, where players instantly fell in love with this Dwarf’s charm.

He continued to amaze players in Dragon Age: Inquisition, where he not only becomes a friend again but is also willing to submit himself to the cause in the hopes of saving the world. By the time Veilguard comes around, Varric is much older and wiser as he becomes a mentor to Rook, the main character, as well as being a part of many emotional moments.
