Survival-Horror Fans Need to Keep an Eye on April 22

Classic-style survival-horror game Post Trauma is now due for release on Tuesday, April 22, making that a day fans of the genre will want to keep an eye on. Post Trauma was first announced in 2021, meaning genre fans have been waiting an agonizingly long time to play the finished product for themselves. It seemed that the long wait was at an end in March, only for the Post Trauma release date to come and go with no game in sight.

A mere week before Post Trauma was set to launch, it was announced that the survival-horror game would be hit with one final delay due to “unfortunate, unexpected circumstances.” The development team issued an apology to survival-horror fans that have been looking forward to the game, and also revealed that the game will be available at a budget price of just $14.99 when it does finally release.

The new Post Trauma release date is Tuesday, April 22. Taking direct inspiration from classic survival-horror games, particularly Konami’s Silent Hill franchise, Post Trauma will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. The game features fixed camera angles, horrific monsters, and psychological horror – all hallmarks of the genre’s classics. It’s looked rather impressive so far, and it will be exciting to see if the final product lives up to the hype.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Post Trauma‘s main protagonist is a train conductor named Roman, who has to navigate a spooky realm not unlike Silent Hill‘s Otherworld. In typical survival-horror fashion, Post Trauma gives players the option to fight monsters head-on or avoid them, all the while they explore its creepy environments and attempt to solve its puzzles. The game is being built with Unreal Engine 5, with the developers stating on its Steam page that the goal is for Post Trauma to be “a homage to beloved franchises and new merging of playstyles. The intent is to create a truly special, unforgettable horror experience fueled by pure passion and incredible talent.”

Horror game fans, especially those that enjoy classic Silent Hill games, should definitely mark their calendars for Post Trauma‘s April 22 release date.
