While R.E.P.O. isn’t primarily a monster hunter game, but instead a survival game where players collect valuables, they can indeed become a set of a few brave Semibots who focus on Strength Upgrades to become the brutal and ruthless killers of the same monsters that want them dead. It’s vital to have Strength Upgrades in R.E.P.O. to grab and smash monsters into the ground or throw them into pits.

REPO: 7 Scariest Monsters, Ranked
REPO contains some truly terrifying monsters that will make even the most hardened of robots tremble in fear, and here’s the scariest of them all.
There are 19 monsters in R.E.P.O., and each of them requires a different level of Strength Upgrades if players want to successfully grab them and throw them to the ground with ease. Strength isn’t just good for acquiring heavier valuables, but for turning R.E.P.O. into a monster-killing adventure.
19
Peeper
Strength Upgrades Needed: Impossible
The Peeper is a giant eyeball that will often pop up on ceilings in an attempt to lock eyes with players, slowing them down and dealing damage over time if they do not break line of sight. Considering Peepers are stuck to ceilings, it’s impossible to grab them, so it’s best to leave them until they teleport away after a few seconds, or shoot them with a gun.
18
Gnome
Strength Upgrades Needed: 0
Gnomes are the weakest of the monsters in R.E.P.O., and their little porcelain pickaxes will deal 10 damage, but they themselves will be easily killed once players pick them up and drop them into the ground, which can be done from as early as the first level since they are very light and require 0 Strength Upgrades.
17
Banger
Strength Upgrades Needed: 0
The Banger is a skull that will light a dynamite fuse in its head the moment it spots a player, and as such, they can be pretty dangerous if players aren’t taking care of them. When they explode, players are going to take damage, and they might as well say goodbye to any nearby valuables. Luckily, the Banger can be picked up and tossed away with no Strength Upgrades to ensure that they are not a major nuisance.
16
Apex Predator
Strength Upgrades Needed: 0 (When the Apex Predator is Knocked Down)
The Apex Predator works a bit differently from other monsters, as the amount of strength doesn’t actually help subdue this monster. The purpose of the Apex Predator is to pester the player and get in their face until they accidentally touch it, to which the Apex Predator will then become a flying monster that chases and bites. Players can pick up the Apex Predator from 0 Strength Upgrades, but they will need to use either a cauldron to knock this duck enemy down, or a Tranquiliser Gun to put it to sleep.
15
Spewer
Strength Upgrades Needed: 4
The Spewer stalks the halls of most maps in search of players for it to latch onto, providing them with a new mouth that will randomly open up to spit out acid on other players and valuables. There’s no way to detach the monster until it decides to do so itself, but players can avoid it by picking it up before it latches when they have 4 Strength Upgrades.
14
Upscream
Strength Upgrades Needed: 4
The Upscream is one of the creepiest monsters to look at as it crawls around on all its legs and looks at the players with the creepiest of smirks. Thankfully, this terrifying beast can be killed with just 4 Strength Upgrades, allowing players to pick it up and toss it around as it helplessly flails.
13
Rugrat
Strength Upgrades Needed: 4
The Rugrat is one of the most urgent monsters to get the necessary Strength Upgrades, as it will find valuables to throw at players – both causing damage to the player and devaluing the item that they want to sell. Luckily, Rugrats are picked up at Strength Upgrade 4, so try to get to this ASAP to counter these little demons.
12
Mentalist
Strength Upgrades Needed: 4
The Mentalist is a strange meditating alien with an oversized brain that will float around in search of players to trap in an anti-gravity field before throwing them down onto the ground to deal damage. Players can get revenge on the Mentalist with 4 Strength Upgrades so that they can show the Mentalist how much gravity hurts.
11
Animal
Strength Upgrades Needed: 4
The Animal is terrifying in how it moves, as it will run around on its multitude of legs, knocking into everything on the ground with a frenzy and without a care for what valuable loot is around. Luckily, the Animal can be grabbed by those with 4 Strength Upgrades, which is reasonably low considering this monster shows no signs of slowing down.

10
Hidden
Strength Upgrades Needed: 4
Only noticeable for the black air it breathes, and the heavy breath itself, Hidden are completely invisible, but players can watch out for their approaching black footprints and black smoke, only to halt their attempts at kidnapping by picking them up and slamming them into the ground with 4 Strength Upgrades.
9
Bowtie
Strength Upgrades Needed: 7
The Bowtie is a large squishy monster that looks like a cloud or a marshmallow, and when it sees the player, it will blow intense air at them to knock them into walls and objects, and then it will run away. The Bowtie can obstruct valuables with its wind blast, but players can pick it up and throw it into the ground once they acquire 7 Strength Upgrades.
8
Shadow Child
Strength Upgrades Needed: 9
The Shadow Child just wants to play, but its version of play is rather hostile since it will “yoink” players who look at it for too long and throw them around. The Shadow Child should be avoided, and it’s easy to do so simply by not looking at its slender form. However, those who want to get rid of it quickly can do so by picking it up with 9 Strength Upgrades.
7
Reaper
Strength Upgrades Needed: 9
This scary monster made of hay swings around lethal scythes in an unrelenting fury when it sees a player, but it can be countered once players get to 9 Strength Upgrades. However, it’s worth noting that the Reaper should only be grabbed from the back to surprise attack it, as trying to grab it from the front will see its blades swing wildly into players.
6
Huntsman
Strength Upgrades Needed: 9
The Huntsman is an enemy that nobody should underestimate, as despite being blind, this enemy has amazing reflexes and will turn and shoot instantly in the direction that it hears a noise. Whether it’s an item, an enemy, a footstep, or a voice, the Huntsman shoots first and asks questions later, which is why acquiring 9 Strength Upgrades needs to be a priority to push this blind killer over before they instantly kill you with their rifle.
5
Chef
Strength Upgrades Needed: 9
The Chef, also known as the frog, wields a bright grin and two bloodied knives. This monster likes to leap at players, swinging its knives wildly as it throws its entire body. When it throws itself, it’s in a vulnerable state so that players can pick it up and throw it around, but that is only possible to those with 9 Strength, and even at that point they do not have to wait for the Chef to throw itself as they can simply pick it up and bully it.

4
Clown
Strength Upgrades Needed: 13
The sinister and giggling clown squeaks through the halls with its oversized shoes and blasts through the scenery with its laser nose, but players can easily turn the Clown into an actual joke by tossing it around and throwing it off of pits once they obtain 13 Strength, which is quite the expensive upgrade to begin with.
3
Headman
Strength Upgrades Needed: 13
Headman is a lethal monster that will float around and try to bite players that it spots, and it’s quite a danger to battle against considering it’s fast, deals 50 damage, and can bite players who are trying to hide under tables. However, they can indeed be picked up and thrown around once players acquire a hefty Strength Upgrade of 13.
2
Robe
Strength Upgrades Needed: 13
The Robe is one of the most dangerous entities in R.E.P.O., so players will need 13 Strength Upgrades to grab this one. It attacks if touched or looked at, so try to avoid it completely, especially when its charge attack will make it hard to grab unless players are behind it and have a pit ready for its fall.
1
Trudge
Strength Upgrades Needed: 13
The Trudge is the strongest monster in R.E.P.O., with over 500 health and with an attack from its mace that will instantly kill players no matter what health they are on. If players want to pick up the Trudge, then they will need 13 Strength Upgrades, but the smartest thing to do with this enemy is to simply evade them for their danger.
