Whether you view him as a ruthless character willing to sacrifice everything for his goals or as a hero is entirely up to you. By the end of the game, you’ll learn more about Solas, but it might not be satisfying. If you want to learn more and experience one of the best endings by witnessing his memories, this guide is for you.

How To Witness The Memories Of Solas

The Inquisitor gives a wolf statuette to Rook in Dragon Age: Veilguard.

Witnessing Fen’Harel, also known as Solas’s memories, happens in two ways. First, you need to start the Regrets of the Dread Wolf quest. To obtain this quest, the Inquisitor will give you a Wolf Statuette during the Shades of the Blight quest. However, you can start collecting the Wolf Statuettes before this quest.

All of these Wolf Statuettes are located in the Crossroads, and some require completing additional tasks to obtain. Some of these tasks will immerse you in Solas’s memories, and as you collect the Wolf Statuettes, you will witness past events and get to know Solas’s character more closely.

Keep in mind that not every Wolf Statuette is located in Solas’s memories. Some are quite challenging to obtain.

Rook places a wolf statue in front of a mural of Solas in Dragon Age: Veilguard.

Each time you place a Wolf Statuette in the Library, a mural will appear, showing an image of one of Solas’s past memories, and you will witness the dialogues from the past. Afterward, you and your entire party will discuss the dialogues you’ve heard. Placing each statuette will earn you an achievement.

In addition, after placing all the Wolf Statuettes in the Library, you will speak with Morrigan in the Crossroads. Then, you will face Mythal, whom you can convince or fight.

Where To Find The First Wolf Statuette

To witness Fen’Harel’s memories, the first thing you need to do is start the “Into The Crossroads” quest. When you first enter the Crossroads, interact with the Caretaker, and it will take you to the hub area known as the Converged City. Open your map here and enter the misty corridor to the right of the Gate of Deep Sorrows.

Once you slide down here, the “The Labs Below” quest will begin. After completing this quest, you will witness Solas’ first memory and obtain the Wolf Statuette.

In the quest, your main task is to escape from the prison while facing darkspawn. At one point, you’ll reach an area with a rotatable statue and four doors. The doors will open in the direction you rotate the statue. Your objective is to destroy all the blight cysts and reach the exit.

After defeating a few waves of enemies, you’ll witness Solas’ first memory related to Ghilan’nain and Tarasahl.

Where To Find The Second Wolf Statuette

After completing the Sea of Blood and Smuggled Relic Case quests, you should now be able to access the area with the Arlathan Forest eluvian. In the Crossroads, you’ll find the Gate of Parched Hope at the location of the Arlathan Forest eluvian.

To the left of the gate, you’ll find a statue holding a power crystal, and to the right, there will be a slot where you can place this crystal. This will form a bridge, and you’ll face two enemies. The path will split, and to reach Solas’ memory, you need to go through the misty passage on the left. This will start the ‘Wolf’s Call’ quest.

Here, you’ll witness a memory of General Felessan and begin a movement for enslaved people. You’ll fight guards, but there’s not much else to do. At a certain point in the quest, you’ll need to free some slaves. Hold the beam device at the top of the ladders in the slot before the iron-barred door on the right.

Then, place the power crystal at the slot at the bottom of the stairs where the slaves are locked. This will bring you to a wisp; take the wisp and place it in the slot in front of the slaves. After that, you’ll face one final battle and witness Solas’ memory. Afterward, you’ll find the Wolf Statuette.

Where To Find The Third Wolf Statuette

To reach this Solas Memory, start at the Hossberg Wetlands eluvian in the Crossroads. After leaving the area with the eluvians and passing through the nearby passage, turn left, and you’ll find a path covered with thorny tree branches next to a crane.

Entering here will trigger the ‘Disrupt And Conquer’ quest. In this memory, you’ll witness Solas sending spirits to fight against the gods.

After defeating the recruits, climb the stairs, use the ballista, and break down the door below with it. After passing the burning trees, you’ll see another of Solas’ conversations. At the end of your battle with the recruits, you’ll hear the sound of a horn and see a red light explosion.

Then, you’ll witness a conversation between Solas and the general, revealing that the disruption’s push has failed. The quest will then be completed, and you’ll be able to find the Wolf Statuette.

Where To Find The Fourth Wolf Statuette

Reaching this Wolf Statuette isn’t as easy as the others. The first thing you need to do is take the boat from the far right in the Crossroads to Converged City. Once there, turn right after passing the three spirits sitting around the campfire, and climb the stairs. You’ll see a door sealed with tree branches here.

This is the Gate of Lost Ages, and you’ll need a Champion’s Essence to open it. As you approach the door, you’ll automatically start the Gate of Lost Ages quest. It’s recommended to be around level 20 for this quest, as a battle will await you. After heading to Dock Town, track the quest, and you’ll reach Andraste’s Watch in the northern part of Dock Town.

There, you’ll find a Fen’harel Altar. Interact with it to create a ramp that will allow you to slide down. After defeating the enemies, you’ll find a wolf sculpture that gives a skill point. However, the main focus here is the Blight Cyst. After destroying it, a boss named Quyn The Sparkwielder will appear. Defeat this boss to obtain the Champion’s Essence.

You can now return to the Gate of Lost Ages in Converged City in the Crossroads and open the gate. This will complete the quest, and since the path is now open, you can proceed further.

After defeating the Venatori in the new area, head left and use the ladder to go up. A mini-boss will be there. After defeating it, destroy the red crystals in the area. Then, destroy the barrier on the left of the large stairs. Climb the ladder behind the barrier, and jump onto the balcony-like area ahead, turning left.

Destroy the crystals here, then destroy the crystals on the cliff across that power the large device in the middle. Afterward, interact with the Veil Instability to create purple platforms, then proceed south, destroying the crystals along the way. Once all crystals are destroyed, you can begin destroying the crystals in the large mechanical device.

After destroying the last crystal under the device, you’ll fight the mini-boss named Smoldering Blood Forge. Once defeated, the door on your left will open. Interact with the statue behind the door. After interacting with the statue, climb the stairs on the left, then climb another ladder ahead. Turn right and climb the ladder on the cliff.

This will spawn some Flame-Cloaked Magisters. Defeat them, and the obstacles blocking your path to the Wolf Statuette will disappear, allowing you to obtain it.

Where To Find The Fifth Wolf Statuette

For this Wolf Stauette, start by taking the middle boat in the Crossroads and head to Elvhenan’s Haven. When you reach the broken column area, turn left, and you’ll find a door covered with branches that requires a Champion’s Essence to open, but this is not the door you are looking for.

Proceed across the bridge to the left of this door and pass under the arch on the right, then descend the stairs. At the bottom, turn right, and by the wolf statue, you’ll see a rotatable statue. If you look to the right of the statue, you’ll spot the Gate of Faded Glories ahead. This gate, just like the Gate of Lost Ages, is covered with branches and sealed.

You’ll need Champion’s Essence to open it. When you approach the door, you’ll also start the Gate of Faded Glories quest.

In this quest, you’ll fight a boss around level 25, so prepare accordingly. Additionally, to complete this quest, you must have finished Davrin’s companion quest, How To Train A Griffon.

Once you track the quest, you’ll reach an area in Arlathan Forest called Forest Mire. Next, you’ll find a door with a switch beside it. After reaching Tainted Woods, activate the Resonant Stone near the Blight Veins with Stone Song and climb it. After breaking the Blight on the wall, you’ll find a pit filled with Darkspawn.

Clean up the enemies, then destroy the Blight Cyst in the area. This will trigger a boss fight with Entarus The Rekindled. After defeating it, you’ll obtain the Champion’s Essence. Head back to the Gate of Lost Ages in Crossroads. Use the Champion’s Essence to destroy the branches blocking the gate, and proceed across the left bridge.

In front of the deer statues, you’ll find the Wolf Statuette. However, when you interact with it, it will turn out to be fake, and you’ll have to fight some enemies. Afterward, go through the passage between the deer statues, but you’ll find a broken bridge ahead. To activate it, rotate the statue on the right to face east, so it looks at the rubble ahead.

Then return and pass between the deer statues again, turning left. Rotate the statue on the left to face east as well. Proceed in the direction the statue is facing and be mindful of the flame missiles falling from above. When you reach the cliff opposite the statue, you’ll find another statue. Rotate it to face the previous one. This will create a bridge ahead.

After defeating the groups of enemies here, you’ll reach the statue directly across from the first one. Rotate it to face the first statue. From here, you can cross the bridge created to the north, leading you to an area you couldn’t reach before.

After climbing the stairs, a final group of enemies will be waiting for you. Once you defeat them, you’ll find the Wolf Statuette at the top of the stairs.

Where To Find The Sixth Wolf Statuette

Rook and Harding are speaking with Inquisitor and Morrigan in Dragon Age: Veilguard.

This Wolf Statuette is the easiest to obtain, as all you need to do is progress the main story. After completing the Shades of the Blight quest, the Inquisitor will give it to you. If this is the first Wolf Statuette you’ve obtained, the Regrets of the Dread Wolf quest will officially begin. However, you can find the other Wolf Statuettes before taking on this quest.
