One of the Best Games Ever Could Be Coming to Xbox Game Pass

Summary

  • GTA 5 is reportedly returning to Xbox Game Pass in the near future.
  • The game is expected to rejoin the subscription service at some point this month.
  • Whenever GTA 5 comes back to Game Pass, it’s unclear exactly how long it will be available for.

Grand Theft Auto 5, one of the highest-rated video games ever made, will apparently be coming back to the Xbox Game Pass subscription service at some point in the near future. Xbox Game Pass games rotate in and out of availability. Most of the time, games are available on Xbox Game Pass for at least a year, but there are exceptions to the rule.

Titles published by Rockstar Games rarely stick to the norms established by the various gaming subscription services. Its titles generally are not available for a full year, and they don’t always leave the services on the typical days other games get the boot. Still, Rockstar’s biggest titles have been available on Xbox Game Pass multiple times, and now it seems one of the studio’s best is coming back.

GTA 5 is Rumored for the Game Pass April 2025 Lineup

Whenever GTA 5 comes back to Game Pass, it will be doing so at the perfect time. It’s been a staggering 12 years since Grand Theft Auto 5 was first released, but Rockstar Games is finally gearing up to launch its successor later this year. The latest information suggests that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for a fall 2025 release date, though a specific day has yet to be announced. GTA 5 rejoining Game Pass gives subscribers the chance to send the beloved open world game off with a bang and maybe get in another playthrough or wreak havoc in GTA Online one last time before the successor hits the market.

Assuming GTA 5 is indeed coming back to Xbox Game Pass this month, April will be remembered as quite a busy one for the subscription service. South of Midnight is set to join Game Pass on April 8, and the highly-anticipated turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is coming to Game Pass on April 24. South of Midnight will likely be a part of Game Pass indefinitely since it’s published by Xbox Game Studios, but Clair Obscur will likely only be on the service for a year or so. The length of GTA 5‘s Game Pass availability, meanwhile, is anyone’s guess, but chances are it will only be 3-6 months.
