How To Craft Smooth Stone In Minecraft

Minecraft isn’t a game that makes it clear how you do everything. It provides a lot more information than it used to, but you still need to figure some things out. One of these things is how to make smooth stone.

Nether Portals are an important feature in Minecraft, so this guide tells you exactly how to craft one.

Smooth stone is one of the most aesthetically pleasing blocks in the game. It certainly looks better than most of the other stone-type blocks. So, if you want to build houses and other structures out of stone, then the smooth version is the way to go. You can also craft a blast furnace with smooth stone, so the block is practical, too. Yet, it’s no use if you don’t know how to make it. That information is here.

How To Make Smooth Stone

Before you can make smooth stone, you first need to acquire regular stone. You will see it everywhere underground, as caves are mostly made up of it. However, once you mine it with an ordinary pickaxe, it turns to cobblestone.

If you have a silk touch pickaxe, you will get stone instead of cobblestone, allowing you to skip the next step.

You can make stone using cobblestone, though. Simply put the cobblestone into a furnace with some coal or other form of fuel. This burns the cobblestone up and turns it into stone.

To make a furnace, you need to put eight pieces of any stone-type block, likely cobblestone, around your crafting grid.

After that, you don’t need to go very far, as you also get smooth stone using the furnace.

Simply put the stone in the furnace with some fuel to make smooth stone. With this material, you can make blast furnaces and smooth stone slabs if you don’t just want to use the blocks to build nice-looking structures.

Unlike stone, when you mine smooth stone with a pickaxe, you actually get the smooth stone back. This means you don’t need to worry about misplacing a block when you’re building with smooth stone.
