How To Beat Genzaburo In AC Shadows

There are way too many organizations you can hunt down in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In addition to the Shinbakufu, there are 15 more organizations you can assassinate. Among them, one is Genzaburo’s Soldiers quest, where you are tasked to eliminate five targets.

This mission can be started by talking to Koshiro. He asks you to hunt down his five former comrades in arms. The quest can prove to be difficult, as the soldiers may give you a hard time. Here, we will guide you on how to find and kill each one of them without much trouble.

How To Start Genzaburo’s Soldiers

You can start this mission by talking to Koshiro, who can be found at the Kyokaiji Temple in the Harima region. The quest will be marked as Fallen Soldiers. After talking to him, five targets will appear in the objectives section.

Genzaburo’s Scout

The first target on your list is going to be The Scout. He is in Tamba, south of the Silver Lands marker, near Maruyama Shitsugen. He will be alone playing a flute, so go behind him and perform an assassination.

This opponent is tricky to fight, especially if you give him room to breathe. If you are not on offense, he will call his allies. So, the fight may become way more troublesome.

To prevent him from calling for allies, you should be on the offensive and defeat him quickly.

After defeating the Scout, you will get Vigilant Grasp, an Epic Bow, and a quest item.

Genzaburo’s Swordsman

The next one on the list is Genzaburo’s Swordsman, who can be found in the Harima region. He is northwest of Engyoji on the bridge near Nagusano Falls. Stealthily go behind him and perform an assassination.

You may be able to take out half of his health. This particular target is wearing armor, so to damage him again, you would need to break that. Use your skills and charged attacks to break his armor quickly and defeat him. You can also use your kunai to perform some headshots on him to defeat him from a range.

After you have eliminated the swordsman, you will receive Inari’s Bounty, an Epic Long Katana, and a quest item.

Genzaburo’s Teppo Expert

Before you can eliminate the Teppo Expert, you will have to complete a certain objective. Investigate the murder scene in Hirama west of Inariyama Garrison and south of Mount Kasagata. There, climb the watchtower and eavesdrop on the shrine maidens.

After that, go to Kaya Shrine, west of Mount Kasaata, to find the Teppo Expert. Go behind him to perform an assassination and make sure to finish him off quickly. That is because there are many soldiers around him, so as soon as you start fighting, they will be alerted and join the fight.

To prevent the other soldiers from making the fight difficult, defeat the Teppo Expert as soon as possible.

After performing the assassination, use your skills to kill him. Once you have defeated him, you will get Wave of Wasps, a Legendary Teppo, and a quest item.

Genzaburo’s Poisoner

To find the poisoner, you will have to track her down first. Track the objective from the map and follow the coordinates. Wait for the kids to finish talking, and then follow the one who is running. After that, talk to him, and just ahead, you will notice an entrance to Nishinomaru Garden.

The poisoner is inside the garden, sitting in the middle and playing a guitar. It is pretty difficult to assassinate her from the back as there are many soldiers around. However, if you go around the bushes, then it could be possible. Upon defeating her, you will get The Poisoner’s Message, an Epic Bow, and a quest item.

Genzaburo

The last target on your list is Genzaburo himself, but before you can kill him, you need to talk to Koshiro. After talking to him, the objective will be updated to confront Genzaburo. He is in the northeast of Himeji at the Zuinganji Temple.

Unfortunately, you can’t assassinate him because the objective is to confront him. So, speak with Genzaburo, and when you are done, the fight will start. You can’t underestimate him just because he is old; he will be the hardest of all the targets.

Be wary of his dual ichimonji attack followed by dual sword strikes. All of these can be parried, but as it is a chain of attacks, you will have to parry each one of them. He also does unparryable attacks, but mostly Genzaburo will do the ichimonji one.

Once you have defeated him, a cutscene will start, and after that, you will receive Tactician’s Steel, an Epic Long Katana, Archery Rage, and Outdoor Cosmetic. With this, the quest will also end.
