As Last of Us fans count down the days and hours (maybe minutes too) until the return of the show’s highly anticipated second season in just a few weeks, more exciting news is on the way for its official companion podcast. HBO’s The Last of Us Podcast is the official companion podcast for The Last of Us TV series and a must-have add-on for any fan of the franchise, which initially began on January 15, 2023, and was hosted by Troy Baker.
Some special guests on the podcast included Pedro Pascal, known for his role as Joel Miller in The Last of Us TV series, as well as Game of Thrones and Gladiator 2, as well as Bella Ramsey, who stars as the troubled teenager Ellie in the series. In previous episodes of the podcast, Baker, who voiced protagonist Joel in the video game, sat down with series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for a scene-by-scene deep dive into each episode of the TV adaptation to talk about their personal relationship with the game and how they went about adapting certain scenes from the video game onto the big screen. HBO’s The Last of Us Podcast Will Make A Welcome Return for Season 2
According to The Last of Us News over on X/Twitter, the beloved podcast for HBO’s post-apocalyptic adaptation will be making a comeback for Season 2. Just like for Season 1 of the show, the podcast will be hosted by Troy Baker, alongside Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. This will certainly be an interesting podcast discussion as Season 2 will have plenty of deep dives and shocking stories to unfold, especially regarding a certain Joel and Abby scene. However, this time, even players of the games might find that there are some aspects that even they don’t know about since the showrunners are changing some narratives around to suit the structure of Season 2 better, as well as including new characters that weren’t in the games.
Previous HBO The Last of Us podcast episodes included talks about how the creators brought the new HBO original series to life, the departure the series took into the story of Bill and Frank, a walk-through of episode 4 which explored key developments in Ellie and Joel’s relationship and an Easter egg from Craig’s life that was put in episode 7.
