Some of these Switch 2 titles include smaller indies, like Human Fall Flat 2 and Witchbook, though the list also includes recent big-name releases like Ubisoft’s open-world Star Wars Outlaws and Capcom’s Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. Other titles on the list have yet to be released.
A host of important Switch 2 information has just recently been divulged by Nintendo as part of its Switch 2 Direct presentation, such as the console’s $449 price tag, its June 5 release date, and a lot more. A big focus of the event was games, as Nintendo revealed its first-party Switch 2 launch lineup with heavy hitters like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. Additionally, Kirby Air Riders is another big Switch 2 game coming later in 2025. Nintendo also revealed The Duskbloods for Switch 2, an exclusive multiplayer game by From Software. All this good news came with a bit of a catch, as prices for the Switch 2’s digital and physical games have been raised to $80 and $90 respectively, causing some outrage across the internet.

Nevertheless, included within Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct was a short two-minute sizzle reel showcasing some of the previously released and upcoming third-party games that are set to arrive on the new console either on its release day or shortly thereafter in 2025. 22 games were highlighted in the trailer, seven of which will be available on the day the Switch 2 launches: Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S, Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Complete Editon, Fast Fusion, Arcade Archives 2 Ridge Racer, and Fortnite. Perhaps the game in the sizzle reel with the most hype behind it is Hollow Knight: Silksong, which confirmed it’s coming to Switch 2 sometime in 2025.

One of the big pieces of Switch 2 news is that the console is fully backward-compatible, with select games offering paid enhanced upgrade packs by the name of “Switch 2 Editions.” A number of games in this sizzle trailer will have their Switch 2 Editions available when they release, including Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, Tamagotchi Plaza, and Bandai Namco’s 2D Pac-Man game Shadow Labyrinth. Perhaps Nintendo wanted to give some of the smaller games a spotlight with the trailer by leaving the splashier games out.
Nintendo fans who are excited for the Switch 2’s release on June 5 will be able to pre-order the console beginning on April 9. While Nintendo named a ton of games that are coming to Switch 2 during the Direct, it will likely have even more to reveal in the weeks leading to the console’s much-anticipated launch.
