Elden Ring dev FromSoftware is making a huge new game, but it’s bad news on PC

First it was Bloodborne. Then, Grand Theft Auto 6. Now, there’s another great-looking game – but we don’t know when, or if, it will ever come to PC. Sigh. FromSoftware, the legendary RPG maker behind Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Sekiro, has an entirely new project in the works called The Duskbloods. It looks a bit steampunk. It could well be an RPG, or even a soulslike. But from what we know so far, it’s exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.

The world of The Duskbloods looks extremely Bloodborne-esque: a gothic, 19th-century-style European city complete with cathedrals, cobbled streets, and tall, pointed architecture. The combat, also, seems very Dark Souls, very Elden Ring – I sense a few boss fights in this initial trailer, and there’s a big, lumbering sewer-dwelling creature that could easily be a distant cousin of Lordran’s basilisk.

Taken at face value, The Duskbloods looks very much like an RPG, possibly another variation on the soulslike game formula. Revealed during the Nintendo Direct, the very bad news is that it won’t come to PC.

The Duskbloods is a Switch 2 exclusive. Now, stranger things have happened – it’s not impossible that FromSoftware’s newest work eventually makes the leap to PC. But for the time being, unless you pay out for Nintendo’s new console, you’ll have to admire this one from a distance. At least the Elden Ring Nightreign release date is coming soon. Oh, and there’s some fantastic news about the future of Hollow Knight Silksong.
