This article contains spoilers for One Piece’s Elbaf Arc.
With the Final Saga of One Piece well underway, it seems that every new chapter of the series consistently raises the stakes of the series. With bigger fights, characters, and world-changing moments, arcs like Egghead and Elbaf have really brought the series to an entirely new level. Of course, with the end of the series approaching relatively fast, it seems even bigger things are coming in the future that most fans can’t wait to see.
However, with everything about the series becoming so much larger than life, some fans are worried that the individual Straw Hat Crew may be left behind. Luckily, although it could have been far worse, the Elbaf Arc of One Piece seems to be doing a good job giving each Straw Hat their own time to shine. Although there are some Straw Hats that are waiting for their moment, as of now, the Elbaf Arc is one of the best arcs for the Straw Hats as individuals in a long time.

There Are Many Important Plot Lines Currently Going On In Elbaf
Each Straw Hat Seems To Have A Vital Place In The Arc
When it comes to the Elbaf Arc, currently there are a few important moving parts at this point in the arc. Mainly, while some characters are partying with the Giants, others are keeping an eye on Loki. Even beyond this, characters like Franky and Robin are researching and exploring the history of Elbaf, the Giants, and potentially, the Void Century.
They all say I went and killed dad… – Loki
Currently, however, some major events are going to happen in Elbaf. As of now, the God’s Knights have continued their plan of kidnapping the Giant children, as well as showing off some extremely cruel abilities. Additionally, with Loki free, the massive figure revealed something that fans have already known for a long time: Loki may not have been the one who murdered his own father.
Each Of The Straw Hats Is Being Utilized On Elbaf
Franky’s Adventures With Ripley Are A Great Example
- The Straw Hats Are Able To Let Their Personalities On Elbaf
- Each Character Is Given A Fair Amount Of Attention
Based on these massive reveals alone, Elbaf has the makings of an arc that could easily overshadow the Straw Hats as individuals, forcing the crew to come together as a group in order to overcome the current major threats on the island. However, as of now, it instead feels as if each of the Straw Hat Pirates has a clear and important role on Elbaf, allowing them to feel like an individual, yet important, to the overall storytelling of the arc so far. This is a breath of fresh air from many other post-time skip arcs that either deal with only half the crew at a time or have the entire crew working as a collective group, rather than as individuals.

One Piece: Oda Confirms He Hasn’t Revealed The Real Villain Of The Elbaf Arc Yet
Elbaf’s real villain has not been revealed yet. Oda has kept it as a surprise in One Piece.
For example, Franky’s exploration of the history of Elbaf through the Treasure Tree Adam is an amazing storyline for the character that many fans had hoped for during the Egghead Arc. Additionally, the Straw Hats at the party with the giants, although they haven’t done much so far, are likely to have their moment to shine when the God’s Knights make their move. Beyond this, Usopp achieving part of his dream, Robin reuniting with Saul, Nani’s quick thinking during the God’s Knights attacks and more are great individual character moments.
Some Characters Still Need Their Moment
Their Role In The Story Has Still Been Strong Despite This
However, there are still a few characters that haven’t had a strong place in the story of Elbaf, mainly, Chopper, Brook, and Jinbe. Overall, the most glaring of the bunch is Chopper, who seems like he could have had more of an impact on the overall research aspects of Elbaf, though there’s always time for him to step up in the near future. Outside of this, although he has had a nice role in the arc so far, Usopp could stand to have a bigger impact on the arc as well, as visiting Elbaf was one of his dreams.
Oh Elbaf, land of mystery and wonder. – Franky
Still, with Usopp being near the God’s Knight’s attack, it is likely that he could play a major role in stopping them. Even without this, so far, Elbaf has been an arc that deals with the individual stories of the Straw Hat Pirates well. Hopefully, this trend will continue throughout the rest of this arc, and well beyond in One Piece’s Final Saga.
