How do you complete the Shattered Veil main quest in BO6? With the Sentinel Artifact securely secured, it’s time for the team to head over to an old mansion that sits secluded in the woods beyond Liberty Falls. There, they’ll meet up with S.A.M, the synthetic AI system based on Maxis, which could be the key to freeing her.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Black Ops 6 Zombies experience if linking up with S.A.M was a simple job. BO6 Season 3 will have you explore a new Zombies map, Shattered Veil, which leads you deep into Colton Hall. As with previous main quest installments, you can earn some pretty sweet loot for the FPS game if you manage to clear it before Directed Mode comes in.

Before we dive in, it should be noted that Shattered Veil is a continuation of The Tomb main quest, which followed the Citadelle des Morts main quest, Liberty Falls main quest, and Terminus main quest. As such, we recommend you polish those off before heading into Shattered Veil.

Here’s what we predict the Shattered Veil main quest will involve and what we know so far:

  • We must take the Sentinel Artifact to S.A.M in Liberty Falls.
  • The team then needs to get inside the mysterious Mansion shown in S.A.M’s files.
  • A dinosaur with a secret.
  • A fluff-filled tea party.
  • A not-so-safehouse.
  • Accessing the elevator takes you down to S.A.M.
  • There may be more to S.A.M than meets the AI.
  • Elder Disciples.
  • The Ray Gun Mark II and Wunderwaffe DG-2.
  • The main quest could reach its dramatic conclusion in the Mainframe Chamber.

We must take the Sentinel Artifact to S.A.M in Liberty Falls

It’s all well and good having a fancy artifact, but it’s about as useful as a chocolate coffee pot if we don’t know what it actually does. Only the Synaptic Algorithm Module (S.A.M) can help us, and that requires taking a trip to Colton Hall.

Black Ops 6 Shattered Veil main quest: the outside of an old mansion that is in disrepair and on fire in places

The team then needs to get inside the mysterious Mansion shown in S.A.M’s files

At the very beginning of the Shattered Veil trailer, we get a lovely view of Colton Hall from the outside. The old place looks pretty banged up, with parts of the building on fire – very welcoming. Judging from the layout outside the mansion, getting inside won’t be a case of simply waltzing through the front door. Prepare for zombies.

A dinosaur with a secret

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that an old house has a bunch of old things in it, and Colton Hall is no exception to this rule. In what looks to be the main foyer, we’re instantly greeted by a hulking T-Rex skeleton standing atop a platform. If there’s nothing beneath it, we’ll eat our hats.

A fluff-filled tea party

As the team moves through the mansion, we get a few different shots of a children’s play area, replete with creepy dolls. Shooting the stuffing out of said dolls could potentially yield things like keys or even clues to other puzzles.

A not-so-safehouse

This isn’t the first puzzle-filled manor we’ve come across in BO6, and if the BO6 safe house puzzles are anything to go by, we could see the return of familiar conundrums. From hidden glyphs to secret doors stashed behind bookcases, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for repeats.

Black Ops 6 Shattered Veil main quest: a metal elevator sits in the middle of a large room

Accessing the Colton Hall elevator takes you down to S.A.M

A considerably more modern elevator stands between you and S.A.M. From the trailer, we can see that some form of security system prevents you from getting down to the Mainframe Chamber. Whether this is tied to something like a card key or biometrics, or even needs to be bypassed completely, remains to be seen.

Black Ops 6 Shattered Veil main quest: the orb known as S.A.M stares down at the team

There may be more to S.A.M than meets the AI

“If you don’t trust me, fine, but you cannot trust her.” These are the words that ring out from a recording played at the end of the Shattered Veil trailer, indicating that S.A.M may not be as friendly as we think. Of course, this could very well be a red herring, and a different form of twist could be in store for our heroes, but be sure to keep your wits about you.

Elder Disciples

The Double Tap perk is returning in Black Ops 6 Season 3, and we’re certainly going to need it to combat the new, terrifying Elder Disciples. These ghastly apparitions not only empower nearby zombies, but can summon more to the fray. Considering their witchy qualities, there’s every chance we may need to dispatch of these to undo sigils or other mystical elements getting in our way.

The Ray Gun Mark II and Wunderwaffe DG-2

BO6 Zombies quests typically require you to craft a specific Wonder Weapon to progress. In Shattered Veil, we’ll have access to two returning fan favorites: the Ray Gun Mark II and Wunderwaffe DG-2. Considering how much juice must be required to keep S.A.M operating, there’s every chance the chain lightning-firing Wunderwaffe will play a pivotal role in either keeping the lights on or ensuring S.A.M has enough power to handle the Sentinel Artifact.

The main quest could reach its dramatic conclusion in the Mainframe Chamber.

Should S.A.M prove to be a hostile force, then we may have to resort to the ol’ PC cure-all: turn her off and turn her back on again. Even if this isn’t the case, it’s been made clear that the AI is tantamount to Carver and co.’s progress in their quest to save Maxis, so it would make perfect sense that we finish up in the Mainframe Chamber.

The rewards available for completing the BO6 Shattered Veil main quest are:

  • 5,000 XP.
  • ‘PhDeadly’ Carver Operator Skin.
  • An animated Calling Card, with a unique variant available for those who complete the quest before Directed Mode is added.

While this is just what we think might happen in the Shattered Veil main quest, we’ll update you with a detailed walkthrough as soon as the map goes live. In the meantime, prepare for Season 3 by completing the BO6 battle pass, ensuring you’ve unlocked new weapons, like the BO6 PPSH and the BO6 Cypher; two of the hottest BO6 weapons for the current meta.
