Summary
- Jin-Woo will fight Thomas Andre due to Hwang Dong-Soo’s revenge plot, not just to prove strength.
- Their encounter during the International Guild Conference will lead to a brutal fight.
- Despite Andre’s strength, Jin-Woo will emerge victorious.
After Sung Jin-Woo’s fight against the Ant King, Solo Leveling fans are already looking forward to his next major fight. And with Thomas Andre’s anime debut during the Jeju Island arc, many are asking when Sung Jin-Woo would come face to face with the world’s strongest hunter. They have yet to cross paths, but there’s obvious tension between these two powerhouses.
During Solo Leveling’s Jeju Island arc, Thomas Andre went to Korea not to join the fourth raid but to meet with Go Gun-Hee. He flew all the way from America to ensure that his guild member, Hwang Dong-Soo, would not be allowed to join the raid. Although Thomas had the strength to clear an S-rank dungeon break, he refused to participate unless his hefty fee would be paid by the hunter association.

Why Will Jin-Woo Fight Thomas Andre?
Hwang Dong-Soo Triggers the Clash Between Two Powerhouses
Sung Jin-Woo enjoys fighting on the battlefield against magical beasts and dungeon bosses of all kinds. He has no problems fighting hunters as well, as he fought with Kang Tae-Shik and Hwang Dong-Suk’s group before. However, Jin-Woo needs a valid reason to fight a national-level hunter like Thomas Andre. He can’t just go to America, provoke Thomas, and engage in a large-scale fight just because he wants to find out who’s stronger.
Due to the power they both hold, their clash would be a worst-case scenario that concerns both the Korean and American Hunter Associations. Still, a fight between Jin-Woo and Thomas is inevitable due to Hwang Dong-Soo’s revenge plan. The former Korean hunter wants to get revenge for his older brother, Hwang Dong-Suk, who mysteriously died along with his group. He has been eyeing Jin-Woo since the beginning, but due to various circumstances, he has yet to find the perfect timing.
“Everything that makes your heart beat faster is beautiful.”—Thomas Andre
Unfortunately, Hwang Dong-Soo is under the jurisdiction of Thomas Andre. Hwang is a member of the Scavenger Guild, which is run by Thomas Andre. Since Thomas has a strong sense of camaraderie, anyone who would do something against his possessions, including Dong-Soo, will be dealt with accordingly. The moment Jin-Woo lays his hands on Hwang Dong-Soo, Thomas Andre has every right to interfere and fight.
When Will Jin-Woo Fight Thomas Andre?
Fight Details Revealed
Sung Jin-Woo is set to fight Thomas Andre in Solo Leveling’s International Guild Conference story arc, right after the events of the Japan Crisis Arc. Their fight will begin in chapter 145 and will end in chapter 147 of the manhwa. As mentioned above, Hwang Dong-Soo will trigger the clash due to his revenge plan against Jin-Woo and Jin-Ho, who will simply go to America to attend the conference.
As the plot unfolds, Hwang Dong-Soo will hold Jin-Ho against his will while Jin-Woo is out doing some personal business. Upon learning that Jin-Ho is missing, Jin-Woo will order his shadows to track his whereabouts until a high orc successfully locates him. As this happens, Thomas and the Scavenger Guild will try their best to find Hwang Dong-Soo before Jin-Woo can reach him first. Unfortunately, Jin-Woo will be able to face Dong-Soo before Thomas can interfere.
“I’ll have to stop you by force.”—Thomas Andre to Sung Jin-Woo
The fight between Hwang Dong-Soo and Jin-Woo will be completely one-sided, with Jin-Woo ruthlessly beating Dong-Soo to death. That’s when Thomas will appear to fight Jin-Woo on behalf of Hwang Dong-Soo and the Scavenger Guild’s pride. Naturally, Thomas will ask Jin-Woo to back down before it’s too late, but Jin-Woo will respond by insulting him in the nastiest way possible.
Who Will Win Between Jin-Woo and Thomas Andre?
Victor Revealed
Despite Thomas Andre’s monstrous strength, Jin-Woo will emerge victorious in the fight, much to the surprise of the first responders as well as the members of the Scavenger Guild. Jin-Woo will beat Thomas enough to break every bone in his body, leaving him bleeding so badly that every available healer will have to work together. If Thomas weren’t a national-level hunter or a ruler’s vessel, he wouldn’t have been able to recover from his injuries.
“Kill Sung Jin-Woo for me.”—Hwang Dong-Soo to Thomas Andre
The fight between Thomas Andre and Sung Jin-Woo could have been avoided if it weren’t for Hwang Dong-Soo and his evil plans. However, without Hwang Dong-Soo, Jin-Woo and Thomas wouldn’t have gained a better understanding of each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, the course of the story would have changed as Thomas would have had no reason to get in touch with Jin-Woo again. In other words, they wouldn’t have had a better dynamic in Solo Leveling. All in all, fans will surely be thrilled once the fight between these two monsters is adapted into anime.
