TI14 Will Feature a Swiss Bracket and Ticket Sales Date Revealed

Revealed by news post on Valve’s official Dota 2 website, we finally have some new news about TI14, ever since its location announcement in January this year.

The biggest news from today’s announcement – TI14 is officially adopting the Swiss System for The Road to the International. Running from Sept. 4 until Sep. 7, the Swiss and Elimination rounds will eliminate eight out of the 16 teams invited to TI14.

TI14 Swiss System

If you’re unfamiliar with the Swiss system, the idea is that teams play other teams of the same record. So a 2-0 team will play other 2-0 teams. This means that every match matters, and the number of games a team players isn’t set in stone.

Under the TI14 Swiss system, teams need four wins to advance, and are eliminated after four losses. In theory, a team could play up to seven games (if they’re very unlucky) and still advance to the next stage.

At TI14, 16 teams will enter the Swiss Bracket and 10 will advance to an elimination round with five winners advancing to The International Proper.

TI14 Ticket Sales

Beyond this, tickets for The International 2025, TI14, are going on sale starting 10am CEST, Tuesday, April 15. They’ll be available from AXS.

Fans are braced for a steep price, as in 2024 TI tickets cost almost $700. We can expect a similar price for the Hamburg event.
