Pokemon Fan Designs Mecha Meowscarada

One Pokemon fan has created a mecha version of Meowscarada, imagining what an alternate form of the Grass/Dark-type would look like. The Pokemon fandom often enjoys reworking the designs of popular pocket monsters, and this fan has a knack for creating mecha versions of some of them, including Meowscarada.

As with previous generations, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced a new trio of starters. Specifically, players could choose from Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxley when starting their adventure in the Paldea region. While each starter has many fans, the Grass-type Sprigatito gained immense popularity in the community. With an adorable feline design that incorporates plant elements, it is easy to see the appeal of the creature to some players. Along with its in-game popularity, many fans created artwork based on the Pokemon and its evolutions: Floragato and Meowscarada.

Pokemon Fan Designs Mecha Versions of Gen 1 Starter Evolutions

A talented Pokemon fan devised mecha versions for the final evolutions of the Gen 1 starters: Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur.

One of those fan artists who took inspiration from the evolution line was shunixe. On Reddit, they recently shared their mecha reimagining of Meowscarada, achieving an impressive result. The artwork put a mechanical spin on the typically organic creature, adding a shiny metallic surface to the body. While this version of Meowscarada looked like a robot, it featured the iconic elements of the in-game design. For example, it had a mask-like head and flowing cape. In addition, the artist had the Pokemon holding a mechanized flower bomb in one of its hands.

Since shunixe shared their work on Reddit, many users have voiced their approval of the design. The post already has over 1.1K upvotes, with more likely on the way. Furthermore, some fans complimented the artist in the comments, saying how this was another impressive addition to their list of mecha Pokemon creations. Besides this Meowscarada design, shunixe has frequently shared other robotic Pokemon on places like Reddit. Their past work includes a Portal-inspired mecha Umbreon, a mecha Mew, and a mecha Sylveon, to name a few.

While a mecha version of Meowscarada does not exist in the official games, Gen 9 did introduce a similar concept in Paradox Pokemon. This new feature added pocket monsters based on either the distant past or the future. As a result, a variety of Pokemon featuring mechanical designs made an appearance, including Iron Leaves, Iron Valiant, and Iron Moth, to name a few.

With no indication of slowing down, it appears that shunixe will continue to provide the Pokemon community with more mecha versions of Pokemon. While designs like mecha Meowscarada might never make it into official games, fan art gives gamers the chance to visualize what some of these concepts could look like.
