The One Piece anime is finally making its long-awaited return in April 2025. The anime went on a break in 2024, as the studio decided to prioritize quality over quantity. Toei Animation didn’t want to lower the standards that it had set with the Wano Country and Egghead arcs, so it chose to go on hiatus.
Finally, after months of waiting, One Piece will return with Episode 1123, and it will pick up where it left off, meaning fans will learn what happens on Egghead Island.

What Happened In The First Half Of Egghead Island?
It Was Packed With Many Incredible Fights
Since it’s been a while since the last One Piece episode, it only makes sense to go through the events that took place in the arc so far. There was a great deal of focus on Monkey D. Garp as he traveled to Hachinosu to free his protégé from the clutches of the Blackbeard Pirates. Koby had been abducted by the Emperor and his crew from Amazon Lily. Blackbeard knew that Koby would serve as an excellent bargaining chip that he could use to strike a deal with the Marines or the World Government.
Luckily, Garp was able to successfully free Koby, but it came at a great cost. When the Marines tried to retreat, Kuzan and the other members of the Blackbeard Pirates stood in their path. Kuzan and Garp were aware of each other’s strength and each fought hard to one-up the other.
Just when it seemed that Garp would actually win, the latter suffered a serious wound while trying to protect Koby from a surprise attack. The strike significantly weakened Garp and allowed Kuzan to gain the upper hand. Towards the end of the battle, Garp did the Marines one last favor and allowed them to escape from Hachinosu. Koby also played an important role as he destroyed Avalo Pizarro’s ginormous arm. Overall, the raid was a failure as the Marines lost arguably their strongest soldier to Blackbeard.
Egghead Island Was In Complete Turmoil
Egghead Island became a battlefield because of York’s betrayal. She ordered the Seraphim to attack and destroy the other satellites and the Straw Hat Pirates. She was driven by her desire to become a Celestial Dragon, and she could only accomplish it once everyone else on the island had been dealt with. Her actions caused a lot of chaos on the island as nobody was able to figure out who had betrayed Dr. Vegapunk. So far, the Straw Hats have done well to stand their ground against the incoming enemies, but things will change soon.

One Piece Episode 1123 Will Cover A Major Incident
One Piece Episode 1123 will be released on April 5, 2025. It is titled The World is in Shock: The Straw Hat Barricade Incident. From the title, it’s quite clear that the new episode will be spectacular. It also confirms that the arc will shift its focus back to Egghead Island, where the Straw Hat Pirates are engaged in a better struggle against the Seraphim. It also seems things are about to get a lot worse for the pirates and the satellites because Admiral Kizaru and a massive armada are near the island.

Kizaru previously faced the Straw Hat Pirates on Sabaody Archipelago after Luffy foolishly punched a Celestial Dragon inside the auction house. The crew tried to run away, but Kizaru’s strength proved to be a lot more than they could handle. The Admiral almost wiped out the crew, and ended their adventure, but a timely intervention from Silvers Rayleigh and Bartholomew Kuma saved them.
This time, Kizaru will not enjoy the same privilege. Luffy and his crew have grown a lot stronger. Many of them know how to use Haki, so they can hurt the Admiral. While Zoro and Sanji can put up a good fight against Kizaru, they still aren’t on the same level as the Marine. So, it will be Luffy who fights against Kizaru. The latter has a score to settle with the Admiral, and he will certainly want to repay the debt from their previous meeting on Sabaody Archipelago.
