I’m back with yet another column of my Monthly Mobile Gaming News Roundup, and I must say, March 2025 had its fair share of hot topics to discuss, apart from the mobile game releases we saw throughout the month.

Putting things together, there have been major updates that set the stage for the months ahead, so I’ll go over the biggest highlights in this space, so let me jump right in.

Monthly Mobile Gaming News Roundup for March 2025

Week 1: March 01 to March 07

Executive Summary

In the first week of March 2025, mobile gaming news included launches of Street Fighter IV: CE, SwipeRogue, Kingshot, and Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake on mobile. The New Denpa Men, Bitball Baseball, The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, and Draconia Saga GLOBAL announced their upcoming mobile launches.

Meanwhile, Suikoden STAR LEAP and Lokko were confirmed to be in development for mobile and multiple platforms. Pre-registrations opened for Frozen War, Metro 2055, Kitty’s Kitchen Diary, and Astral Takers, while RPCS3 released its alpha build for Android.

Honor of Kings invested $15 million into esports, and HoYoverse began recruiting for a new Honkai IP. In other news, Activision’s mobile games sparked controversy over AI-generated ads, Gran Saga announced its shutdown on April 30, and Under Par Golf Architect was revealed as a multi-platform golf management game.

Week 2: March 08 to March 14

Executive Summary

In the second week, several games became available as well, including Meduverse, Birds Camp, and Song of Conquest Mobile, while Monopoly World entered soft launch. Upcoming releases were confirmed for Pondlife, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, and Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, with Disco Elysium set for a summer mobile launch.

Meanwhile, NZ Mobile and King’s Chess began testing in China, and OVERDARE launched a beta test in Brazil. MARVEL Mystic Mayhem also started its second closed beta, while Cute Invasion began live testing. Meow Rangers and Game of Thrones: Kingsroad opened pre-registrations.

Elsewhere, Brazil mandated Apple to allow sideloading, Love and Deepspace introduced face verification in China, and BlizzCon 2026 was confirmed for next September. Crunchyroll Game Vault expanded its lineup, and Tencent Games revealed plans for a new Honor of Kings hero shooter.

Week 3: March 15 to March 21

Executive Summary

Part of the mobile gaming news, several games launched again in the third week of March 2025, including New Star GP, Avatar Legends: Realms Collide, VolleyBall King, and Resident Evil 3 remake on Apple devices. Meanwhile, Pool Masters has entered soft launch, and mo.co launched its open beta.

DARKEST DAYS and Spirit Crossing announced upcoming playtests, while Whispers from the Star and MISFITZ are preparing for beta phases. In addition, CookieRun: OvenSmash and Bleach: Soul Resonance are gearing up for closed beta tests, while Azur Promilia begins offline playtesting in China.

Pre-registrations opened for Super Milo Adventures, MageTrain, and Delta Force, with the latter set for a summer 2025 launch. Once Human and Punch Out: CCG Duel confirmed April 2025 releases, while Star Wars: Hunters is shutting down in October 2025.

Other industry updates include Google Play Games expanding Android compatibility on PC, Masang Soft acquiring the King’s Raid IP, and Square Enix suing HK TEN TREE LIMITED over Mecharashi.

Week 4: March 22 to March 28

Executive Summary

Pocket Hockey Stars, Mino, NETHER MONSTERS, Your House, King’s League II, PBJ – The Musical, and SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered were part of the releases in the fourth week. Meanwhile, Nintendo Today! is now available for daily Nintendo updates. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Duck Town will be in the release plans.

Pre-registrations have begun for Minion Rumble, and WELTKRIEG 1: FIRESTORM is preparing for a regional beta this summer. War Of The Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is shutting down on May 29, 2025.

Industry updates include ByteDance transferring publishing rights for MLBB, MLA, and Marvel Snap, KRAFTON acquiring a controlling stake in Nautilus Mobile, and CD Projekt Red partnering with Scopely for a new project. Meanwhile, the European Commission is investigating virtual currency in games.

Week 5: March 29 to March 31

Executive Summary

The final three days of March 2025 had their fair share of mobile gaming news. City of Wars: Powered by Yakuza, Shambles: Sons of Apocalypse, and Mixmob: Racer 1, arrived to the game. Timelie has also arrived in early access on Android, while Etheria: Restart and Wex Mobile: Battle Royale opened pre-registrations alongside the new announcement of Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter.
