While you’re a cute cat with a canine companion in Koira, you’re still faced with the threat of packs of boars and groups of hunters. The first time you encounter hunters in the game, they take your dog and you need to get him back.

However, you’re in different parts of their camp and you need to avoid being caught to get to where your dog is being held. You’ll need to distract guards, hide in certain places, and time your movements carefully. We’ll walk you through what you need to do and where you need to go.
Opening The First Gate
You’ll wake up among some glowing mushrooms, so head right and follow the path through the trees. Then, go left from the gate and head down to touch the mushroom by the fallen tree.
That’ll wake up other mushrooms around you and clear a path directly up from your location. Just follow around to the right and the giant mushroom creature will move out of your way.
Avoiding The Hunters
Keep going from here and you’ll come across a camp with a hunter in it. You need to avoid him, so when he’s walking away from you, get to the barrel he walks past and press X if you’re on PlayStation or A on Xbox to hide inside it.
You only get a small window of time to get this right, so jump out the barrel just as the hunter walks past you.
When he’s walked past you, jump out of the barrel and run right to the next part of the camp.
Then you need to get through another camp section. Once you’re there, stay right in and get close to the dogs in the pen to alert them.
The hunter will then move towards them. As soon as he starts to move, head down and into the camp where the hunter initially was and hide in the box there, waiting for him to go past.
Once he goes back to his initial position, jump out and head up and right. You’ll step on some sticks to alert hunters, so keep running and avoid the grabbing hands to get to the final part of the camp.
How To Escape The Tent
Once you’re in the tent, you’ll find a hunter you need to get past. You can hide in the dark parts without being seen, so hide in a dark area and wait for the hunter to pass, then run to the other end of the tent. You’ll see where your dog is, but you need the key that’s in the tent.
You cannot grab the key when you’re in the tent for the first time.
Grab a snowball and head back inside. Use the same technique to get past the hunter, then throw your snowball at the key that’s hanging. Grab the key and get out of the tent.
The hunter may pick the key up if it lands near him, but you can grab it off him from the dark.
Just use the key on the gate outside to get to where your dog is being held captive.
How To Free Your Dog
After interacting with the cage, musical notes will start to reveal to the left, so follow the clearings to a big red structure. A circle will appear, so stand in it and press circle if you’re on PlayStation or B on Xbox to sing.
You’ll be given a special power to smash things, so use the power to get back to the dog’s cage. Now, use the power on the cage to get in and free the dog. You’ll scare him, but just creep up to him and press/B circle to calm him down.
After the next group of hunters leaves, get your dog to clear the path and you’ll be able to escape to the next part of the story.
