The people of NLA and the planet of Mira as a whole make up the bulk of Xenoblade Chronicles X’s content. More than focusing on a single story or a small party, the game is all about exploring the full extent of the people that exist on this planet. And quite a few of those people are recruitable, a breath of fresh air in your travels.

He’s got more than a bit of brain fog, but Phog is nevertheless worth recruiting in Xenoblade Chronicles X.

And what’s life without a bit of risk? That’s what Murderess introduces to your party. She doesn’t play by the rules, seemingly motivated exclusively by amassing money and being conniving in every facet of her life. Yet she is also somehow irresistible, and makes an ironically dependable ally in battle.

How To Begin My Dream

The my dream quest description with murderess behind it in xenoblade chronicles x definitive edition.

Despite being present around NLA from early in the game, she doesn’t become available as a companion until you’ve completed Chapter Five, Ma-non Maneuvers. You also need to be level 22, though that shouldn’t be much of an issue at this stage in the game.

In the original version, Irina was needed for this mission, though not in the Definitive Edition. Bring her anyway to preserve the vibes.

With these requirements met, you can find Murderess in the Hangar beneath the Administrative District, squirreled away in the corner. She seems to be hosting a fight club of her own, with the reward being the victor being allowed to accompany her on her next mission.

After a bit of not-so-friendly banter between Irina and Murderess, including the anecdote that she literally shot Irina in the back, she invites you to help her on her next mission instead. And who are you to say no to someone called the Murderess?

Should You Give The Murderess The Reward Or Fight Her?

Despite being a Curator, she is tasked with picking up some items from White Whale Debris that was found in Noctilum. Head over there now and go right to the marked spot on the map to find a massive piece of debris. In this regard at least, Murderess was being truthful.

Despite calling it a typical Curator job, this is clearly a Reclaimer job. Unless, of course, Murderess is intentionally lying just for fun.

After you approach this piece of debris, a cutscene triggers where, who would have expected, Murderess betrays you. She points her gun at Irina’s back once again and calls in her fight club buddies to help her out. At this point, you are offered two choices, both of which partially affect the outcome of the mission.

  • Concede

If you choose to concede, Murderess takes the items and returns to NLA with them to claim the reward. The benefit is that you at least get out of a battle with all her lackeys.

  • Fight

If you choose to fight, Murderess herself flees the scene, but leaves her friends behind to take you on, including one in a Skell. They’re not obscenely strong, especially if you’re any amount above the recommended level.

Keep in mind that with Murderess leaving the party, you will be short a party member for this fight.

After they’re defeated, you are free to return to NLA to chase down Murderess.

Once you get back to NLA, you will realise that the choice you made was completely inconsequential. If you concede, Murderess returns to Eleonora as if she complete the entire mission herself. If you fight, she skips ahead to Eleonora and asks for the reward in advance, saying that you have the item in question. It’s a lose-lose scenario.

At least you still get a small reward in 230 EXP, a Spherical EM Motor, and a Resonating Madonater. Oh, and Murderess will join your party whenever you want. You just can’t help but forgive her.

The Resonating Madonater is used in a later quest for an optional choice, so try to hold onto it until then.

The Murderess As A Companion

After you recruit Murderess, you will see that she uses a variation of the Winged Viper class, giving her Dual Blades and Psycho Launchers. These weapons give her some powerful capabilities up close that have her racking up TP and critical hits, while the Psycho Launchers give her a surprising amount of defense. Just don’t expect buffs for the rest of the party.

She also comes with two unique arts of her own, which are:

  • Seventh Edge – This is an art for the Dual Blades, and deals weapon damage to nearby enemies while also boosting TP gained from ranged combos,
  • Gravity Lunge – This is an art for the Psycho Launchers, and deals gravity damage to a single enemy, inflicts topple, and boosts damage in melee combos. It costs 1,000 TP to use.

These skills can be unlocked for your own characters by completing Murderess’ later Affinity Missions, The Little Rich Girl and Serial Thriller respectively.
