Elamain is one of the bosses in the game that features an incredible defense, and getting through it is going to take a lot of skill and patience. But once you’ve grown accustomed to her moveset, you’ll be able to put her out of her misery with ease.
Preparations For The Elamain Boss Battle
Elamain is the final boss of the Devoured Village mission and uses lightning attacks throughout the battle, which can inflict the Electrocution status effect on you. If you keep getting hit by the enemy during this state, you’ll be paralyzed and will be unable to move. Luckily, most of her lightning-infused attacks are fairly easy to dodge, so you won’t have to worry too much about it.
Electrocution inflicts stamina damage over time and can be cured by consuming a Lightning Cleanse Potion.
You won’t get many opportunities to strike because of her shield, but using a Dual Wield weapon has some advantage in this boss battle because you can dodge around to get to her back and attack where she won’t be able to block.
Keep in mind that Elamain can block attacks on her back with her shield, but they deal significant stagger damage to her even if the block is successful, making it a good option regardless. For armor, you can pick anything that fits your preferences and provides good stats, but make sure your Agility is A because you’ll have to move around a lot in this boss battle.
How To Beat Elamain
If you’ve faced her a few times, you’ll quickly notice that her shield is quite literally unbreakable, and no matter what you do, you can’t overpower her. The more you attack her shield, the more it will glow, and then she can use it to infuse her attacks with lightning.
However, aside from the defense, Elamain doesn’t hit that hard with her attacks and relies mostly on grab attacks and staggering you by blocking your attacks. Keep in mind that you can still attack Elamain while she’s executing any attacks or recovering from them. Aside from that, the Dual Wield’s charged sprint attacks are also quite useful against her.
It’s a good strategy to attack Elamain a few times, so her shield starts to glow because her lightning-infused attacks are much easier to dodge than her regular attacks and these attacks also give her an opportunity to come off guard, making it a good option.

The First Berserker: Khazan – Complete Guide To Crafting
Armor is a big part of surviving in The First Berserker: Khazan. We’ll show you how to craft your own set.
Grab Attack
This is one of her most annoying attacks, but it is surprisingly easy to avoid. Elamain often uses this attack when you’re staggered to deal a big chunk of damage, or she can strike you with her shield, and even if you block the attack, you’ll still get grabbed.
To counter this attack, you simply have to keep moving and avoid running out of stamina. If you keep walking to the sides, it also gives you an opportunity to get to her back where you can get a few attacks in before she brings her shield up.
Three-Hit Melee Combo
Elamain begins a melee combo with her short sword by running at you and swinging her weapon. The second swing comes shortly after. If you decide to retaliate after blocking the first attack, you might get hit by it.
The third and final attack of the string is a thrust attack. It is extremely delayed, but you can very easily avoid it by stepping to the side or by dodging it. The final attack gives you plenty of room to attack and initiate your offense if you manage to avoid it. If you were able to dodge it perfectly, you might be able to attack her back. If she ends up too far away from you, you can perform a sprint attack to catch up to her.
Shield Bash
Elamain will often bash you with her shield in the middle of attacks and sometimes out of nowhere when you’re too close to her. This attack deals heavy stagger damage to you if you block it, and if you stagger, you might become a victim of her grab attack.
However, if you’re able to perform a Brink Guard on this attack, Elamain will receive considerable stagger damage and will be open for a few swift attacks.
Lightning Ground Bash
Before this attack begins, you’ll immediately spot the lightning on the boss’ shield. Elamain will smash her shield on the ground, unleashing a lightning shockwave in a small area. Elamain usually uses this attack when her shield is fully glowing.
The lightning ground bash can be easily avoided by dodging to the back. But, you can also block it, but the lightning will deal slight chip damage even if you execute a Brink Guard.
Most of Elamain’s attacks are better to avoid by dodging instead of blocking because after you’ve blocked an attack, the boss can quickly recover and go back to blocking. However, if you dodge properly, you’ll be able to land a few attacks before she can guard again.
Lightning Thrust
After coating her short sword in lightning, the boss will unleash a long-range thrust quickly with her weapon. This attack is very quick, but you can easily predict when it’s coming by judging from her movements.
The best way to avoid this attack is to dodge it. It doesn’t have to be a Brink Dodge and is good enough if you can avoid the hit altogether and initiate your own offense while she recovers. During the latter half of the fight, after she has lost more than half of her HP, Elamain will execute another lightning thrust before she begins her recovery.
Lightning Shield Clap
Elamain will smack her shield with her short sword, unleashing a lightning attack in a small area in front of her shield. She can use this attack only when her shield is fully or partially glowing.
You should try to avoid this attack by dodging it, but you can also block it at the cost of slight chip damage.
Shield Charge
Elamain would brace her shield and execute a lightning charge in a straight direction. You can easily avoid this attack by dodging to the sides or by simply moving to the side as she starts charging.
Often, after finishing the lightning shield charge, the boss will execute this attack a second time in another direction. Blocking this attack isn’t recommended because it deals a lot of stamina damage, and you’ll be staggered, opening yourself up for the grab attack.
Lightning Sweep
After Elamain has lost at least a quarter of her HP, she will start executing this attack where she turns her short sword into a long lightning blade and sweeps nearly the entire arena with her attack. After the sweep, the boss will jump into the air and unleash a cleaving attack out of lightning that can easily one-shot you if you’re not prepared.
The first sweep is difficult to avoid, and you’ll have to perform a perfect dodge to avoid all damage, but that’s too risky, so the best option is to simply block. Even if you get staggered, you can recover in time to avoid the second attack. To avoid the second attack, you simply have to dodge to the sides as the attack is extremely linear.
Elamein Boss Fight Rewards
Defeating Elamain will mark the end of mission eight after a cutscene, and you’ll also get the No Turning Back achievement. Additionally, you will receive two Crushed Dreams set equipment or a weapon, a Mercenary Ring, and three units of the Transmutation Mist. Since the rewards are often randomized, you may receive items of similar rarity instead of the ones mentioned.
