The Humble Choice April 2025 games are live, and it’s a bumper month with 10 Steam Deck games on offer, thanks to a classic three-in-one remaster being included in the lineup. Elsewhere, you can enjoy a squad-based action game set in an iconic movie franchise and one of the most talked about indie games of the last decade.

If you’ve got one of the best handheld gaming PCs, then this is another fantastic month for you. While not every game is Verified for the Steam Deck, each game will run, with the caveat that some graphics settings need to be adjusted.

For a low $11.99 / £8.99 cost, you can save $207.93 / £177.49 against the full price of these games on Steam. There is no membership obligation, meaning you can pay for one month of Humble Choice, claim your games, and cancel your subscription at any time – the games are yours to keep forever. If a new set of games arrives that you don’t like, or perhaps you own many of them already, you can also opt to skip a month. To grab your subscription, click this link here.

The April 2025 Humble Choice games are:

  • Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered – Steam Deck Verified
  • Dredge – Steam Deck Verified
  • Aliens Dark Descent – Unsupported but works great with graphical tweaks
  • 1000xResist – Steam Deck Playable
  • Diplomacy is Not an Option – Steam Deck Playable
  • Nova Lands – Steam Deck Verified
  • Nomad Survival – Steam Deck Verified
  • Distant Worlds 2 – Unsupported but works great with adjustments

There are so many incredible games included in this month’s Humble Choice lineup that it’s genuinely quite hard to just pick out a few highlights. This is easily one of the better Choice game lineups despite not really featuring any triple-A releases.

My first standout pick for April is Aliens Dark Descent. As a fan of this horror/action universe, and having loved games like Isolation and Fireteam Elite, this is just another stellar journey into the world created by James Cameron.

In this game, you command a squad of Colonial Marines to try and stop a Xenomorph outbreak. It’s more of a real-time strategy game than anything else, but with a huge focus on moment-to-moment action with a tense atmosphere. Sadly, the game is rated as Unsupported on Steam Deck, but this is somewhat of a false rating. The game runs fine with the graphical settings turned down and AMD FSR enabled.

Next up is Dredge, one of the most talked about indie games in recent memory. What poses as a simple fishing adventure soon becomes a full-blown horror game, but the core fishing gameplay loop never disappears, and a puzzle-like inventory system keeps things interesting.

I don’t want to say too much more about Dredge for fear of spoilers, but it’s an absolute must-play. Better still, as a Humble Choice perk this month, you get 30% off vouchers for three Dredge DLCs: The Pale Reach, Blackstone Key, and The Iron Rig.

The final game I’m going to highlight is 1000xResist, a truly compelling story-driven RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is killed off by a disease triggered by the arrival of giant entities. A survivor, named Iris, creates a society born in her image 1,000 years later. In this society, Iris is known as ALLMOTHER.

You then take on the role of one of six “sisters” within the Orchard, an underground bunker where this commune of clones lives. As the Watcher, you will relive the ALLMOTHER’s memories to discover whether everything you know is a lie.

While I’ve highlighted just three games from this month’s lineup, don’t let that take away from what an incredible experience it is to relive the first three Tomb Raider games remastered, or how much fun it can be to build bases to try and survive comically large waves of enemies in Diplomacy is Not an Option.
