Enid Sinclair and Wednesday Addams are the quintessential sunshine and storm pairing in Netflix’s Wednesday, perfectly balancing each other out in the Addams Family spin-off series. Their well-balanced relationship took time to build, but once they found their rhythm, they stuck together. The pair didn’t get off on the right foot, thanks to Wednesday’s endless cynicism, deadpan humor, and reluctance to make friends. Additionally, it didn’t help that Ms. Sinclair was writing gossip about Wednesday on her blog.
Besides her writing and active involvement in school activities, Enid struggled all season long to transform into a werewolf, fearing a lone wolf’s life. A late bloomer, Enid finally wolfed out at the crucial moment in Wednesday‘s Season 1 finale, protecting Wednesday from the Hyde monster’s wrath. They shared a warm hug and Enid seemed content with Ajax Petropolus by her side. Yet, the future is bound to bring the biggest challenges for the newly transformed Enid.

Enid And Wednesday’s Friendship Through Season 1
Roommates Wednesday and Enid’s deep friendship developed after a rocky start. After subjecting each other to mutual intimidation and trading sharp insults, their bond blossomed when Enid opened up about her inability to transform into a werewolf. She explained the best she could do was extend her werewolf claws. Despite visiting a reputable lycanologist, she explained that she was struggling with the possibility that she might never fully transform.
Though Wednesday attempted to offer genuine empathy but failed until she divulged the reason behind her cold temperament and emotional guardedness. She narrated that at the age of six, a week after Halloween, she was held down by a group of local bullies and forced to watch as her pet scorpion Nero was run over using bicycles. She’s given her pet a funeral in the family cemetery and vowed to never cry again. Enid promised to safeguard her roommate’s secret, marking a new phase of their friendship. Over time and despite the differences in their personalities, Enid could soften Wednesday’s edges while grappling with her transformation. Slowly, Wednesday warmed up to Enid’s warm bubbly nature, realizing that it was the missing spice in her life. Furthermore, the Poe Cup victory cemented the pari’s friendship, adding feathers to Enid’s leadership and Wednesday’s skillfulness. Enid and Wednesday have their ups and downs but quickly realize that they must stick together if they are to solve the murder mystery.
Enid’s Newfound Werewolf Identity And Journey Ahead
Though Enid’s transformation is a massive personal feat, it is only the beginning of her journey as a fully transformed werewolf. The fact that she wolfed out right towards the end means she requires ample time to explore her abilities. She looked pretty disheveled and tired towards the end of the encounter with the Hyde Monster in Wednesday season 1, episode 8 “A Murder of Woes,” indicating she needs to undergo rigorous training to hone her heightened senses. While searching for Wednesday in the woods, Enid morphs into a werewolf with Thing witnessing the entire transformation. Shocked, she says “Oh my god!” several times before finally accepting what’s happening to her. She embraces her werewolf form under the glow of the Blood Moon and rushes to defend Wednesday against Tyler, who’s morphed into his Hyde monster.
To truly master her transformations, Enid needs good care, guidance, and attention. Whether her pack will finally step up to mentor her remains to be seen. Her physical transformation also demands emotional regulation, but the good thing is, she has a strong, supportive father (Murry Sinclair) to count upon. Enid’s transformation at the end of Wednesday Season 1 is open to question, as the show did not have enough time to delve deeper into her abilities. For now, her wolfing-out episode remains a one-time thing, meaning she could be feeling overwhelmed right now. She needs time and training to gain control over future transformations.
Wednesday’s unlikely hero, Enid, no longer fears ostracization, but how her mother fits into the whole scheme of things and how the pack uplifts her is yet to unfold.
Will Ajax Make Enid’s Life Better?
Enid has already demonstrated her powers, but within her lies an immense potential yet to be unlocked. Now older and more mature, she and Wednesday form a dynamic powerhouse duo — one that could bring the enemies to their knees. While Wednesday isn’t so keen on finding a love interest at Nevermore Academy, Enid has Ajax the Gorgon by her side as her boyfriend. He helps her walk up to the students as she stumbles out of the woods, bruised from the tough fight against the Hyde.
Ajax must offer Enid unwavering support in the coming time, especially because she will struggle to embrace her long-awaited identity. His role is crucial in helping her navigate her newfound role as Nevermore’s savior. If he stands by her, their relationship will grow stronger, proving that their struggles are not in vain.
Wednesday Season 2 is set to arrive sometime in 2025.
