Disco Elysium is a game that is surrounded by controversy, yet surprisingly, none of it is because of the game itself. Due to legal battles, developer fallout, and a lot more, the original team on Disco Elysium has fractured so much that there are about a dozen spiritual successors helmed by former developers currently in the works.

All of these issues eventually led ZA/UM to cancel Project X7, which was reportedly either a sequel or large expansion to Disco Elysium that had been in development for a while. We never got any details about Project X7 before or after its cancellation, but thanks to what appears to be a leaked internal presentation, that’s changed.

Disco Elysium Cancelled Sequel Plot Details And Gameplay Leak

Uploaded to YouTube by a user called Jamrock Hobo, they claim that the presentation was sent to them with a request to upload it, and was made nine months before Project X7 was cancelled. In the presentation, it claims that the game would have been called Locus City, and would have starred both Cuno and Cunoesse.

The game would have had players take control of both Cuno and Cunoesse, who would need to combine their abilities to achieve certain goals. However, depending on the choices you would have made throughout the game, the developers were toying with the idea of the two characters having a “clash of interests”, and one potentially killing the other.

Disco Elysium for the “TikTok user” is not the pitch ZA/UM thinks it is.

A lot of the presentation dives into interesting gameplay elements, such as a shared inventory between both Cuno and Cunoesse, as well as unique interactions and conversations for each character, and different solutions to quests depending on which character you’re controlling. The rest is a breakdown of the game’s art and animation, and it’s all very interesting to see laid out like this.

Now, there is an elephant in the room that’s worth noting. This trailer was uploaded rather mysteriously to YouTube by a fairly high-profile Disco Elysium content creator on April 1, which we all know is a date on which people and developers like to be funny and try and trick people into believing fake leaks and rumors. This particular leak seems to be far too elaborate for an April Fool’s joke, so it is likely legit, but it’s just something to keep in mind.
